It will provide independent counsel to the Chair and Board during a period of profound transformation in local government across Essex.Over the next three years, the establishment of a new strategic mayoral authority and the creation of unitary authorities will fundamentally reshape the local governance landscape. These changes will replace all existing local authorities in Essex, including Essex County Council-Essex Housing's current parent organisation. In this evolving context, the role will be instrumental in ensuring Essex Housing remains agile, forward-looking, and aligned with the region's emerging governance structures.This role requires you to influence strategic housing delivery by building strong relationships with senior leaders across Essex County Council, central government, and key partners.Role responsibilities will include:<ul>
<li>Provide expert advice on housing development while upholding high standards for Essex Housing.</li>
<li>Support the Chair in setting the Board's strategic direction in line with statutory objectives.</li>
<li>Offer constructive challenge on current and proposed housing projects.</li>
<li>Help ensure confidence in Essex Housing's stability and viability among key stakeholders.</li>
<li>Provide industry insight and expertise specific to residential development and commercial property transactions and innovative approaches to achieving financial sustainability and viability, e.g. land acquisition and raising capital</li>
<li>Attend the Essex Housing Board, which will meet circa monthly and other events as required</li>
<li>To further the aims of Essex Housing, making sure that it keeps within its objectives</li>
<li>Work with the Chairman and other Board Members to direct and control the affairs of Essex Housing</li>
<li>To take part in formulating and reviewing the mission, strategic aims and values of Essex Housing, making sure they remain valid and relevant.</li>
<li>Working with other Board members to ensure that policies and practices of Essex Housing are in keeping with its aims.</li>
<li>To monitor the performance of Essex Housing, ensuring it is solvent, effectively run and holding the executive to account.</li>
</ul>Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceWith extensive subject matter expertise in residential development, at a senior level, you will have experience of operating at director level or similar for a reputable residential developer or housing organisation, contributing to their strategic aims. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to work with site appraisals, viability assessments and business cases, considering advice from surveyors, project managers and financial and legal experts. We are looking for a proactive and organisedRepairs Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of our responsive repairs service at Hightown Housing Association.Working three days a week, you will be a key point of contact for residents and staff reporting repairs. You will collaborate closely with our Repairs Team Supervisors and Manager to ensure that repair requests are logged, tracked, and resolved efficiently and to a high standard.Key Responsibilities as a Repairs Co-Ordinator:<ul>

<li>Place and track orders with approved contractors using our Repairs and Maintenance system.</li>

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Household Support Officer to join our team within the Council Housing Service.
We are looking for applicants who are enthusiastic, organised and self-motivated individuals with experience of working with households, providing targeted support, building their engagement, and improving their overall health and wellbeing.
Applicants will have significant experience in assessing, planning, and delivering support to households facing multiple barriers, and have the ability to co-ordinate and manage a caseload and monitor, report and record accurately and in a timely manner.

The Council's current ambition is to increase our own supply of Temporary Accommodation. 
It is an exciting time to be joining the housing service. This role has been created to assist and ensure those who are staying in TA are supported whilst there. Given this, we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who wants to get the very best of outcomes for residents of the Borough.
To support this ambition, we have an exciting new opportunity to join our Housing Solutions service in a part time permanent role. The role will be three days a week and based in our new accommodation in Tonbridge.
You will work with and support both the Housing and Benefits teams as well as households directly to minimise any stay within temporary accommodation.&nbsp; There will also be a focus on helping to prevent any arrears occurring because of the stay within the temporary accommodation.
Whilst you will be primarily based in Tonbridge, there may be times when you will be required to visit other temporary accommodation in other areas. The role will be focused on working with households who have been placed in temporary accommodation to check on occupancy and welfare.
In addition, you will recognise, report and monitor situations and/or changes in circumstances within temporary accommodation placements which may give cause for additional support, warnings, impact on housing duties e.g. anti-social behaviour.
You will have experience of working in a similar role with a local authority, Registered Social Landlord, homeless charity or similar.
Above all you will be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, possess excellent communication skills and have the enthusiasm to help others overcome their problems.
