Assist in the delivery of housing services to customers in a busy and varied housing team. You will deal with a wide range of matters to support the Housing Services Strategy and Partnerships team, such as helping to run the homeless forum and consultation events and providing administrative support such as minute taking and data collection.

To assist the Customer Relations Officer to investigate and draft responses to complaints, member enquires, Freedom of Information requests and Ombudsman enquiries received by Housing Services.

To manage and monitor ongoing learning from complaints and enquiries.

To assist with the administration of any complaints referred to the Landlord Services Designated Persons Panel, including preparation of reports and papers for board meetings.

The postholder will also be responsible for answering telephone and e-mail enquiries.

This Apprenticeship will give the successful candidate an excellent background in housing and help to build on communication and organisational skills.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Housing Strategy and Customer Relations Apprentice to join the Strategic Housing and Partnerships team within the Housing Service. This is a great chance to gain the Business Administrator Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 whilst working for the Housing team

As part of this role you can expect to undertake the following tasks:

  • Data inputting
  • Scanning
  • Filing
  • Updating of systems
  • Email inbox monitoring
  • Maintenance of database
  • Room bookings
  • Using the council finance systems
  • Responding to simple queries via telephone or email

The Business Administrator Apprenticeship is a two year programme incorporating real work experience and learning, to gain the knowledge and development of skills and behaviours to successfully complete the programme. This apprenticeship involves approximately 18 months on the job development, followed by an end point assessment consisting of a knowledge test, a presentation on the project completed; and a discussion on the portfolio of learning and development produced during the apprenticeship. A grading of either Pass or Distinction is achievable.

Ideally you will have good communication and interpersonal skills, combined with competent IT skills, accurate data entry along with a good attention to detail. However we are happy to support you to reach those goals if you are highly motivated and have the desire to learn and succeed.
