This role will be critical in delivering the calculation and administration of tenant and leasehold service charges, major works, shared ownership properties and other leasehold services.

If so, we have an exciting trainee opportunity to join our Housing Options team and help us meet the need of homeless people in Waverley.
This trainee role combines front facing customer service with important back-office administration duties. The successful applicant will work under appropriate supervision and have an action plan to support them from starting as a trainee to becoming a capable Housing Options Officer.
Whilst working under supervision, the successful applicant will find out essential background information regarding customers’ circumstances and provide initial advice as to the Council’s statutory homelessness duties. They will work towards identifying and making relevant enquiries, conducting Full Housing Assessments, drawing up/updating Personal Housing Plans with reasonable steps, and accepting, discharging, and ending homelessness duties on behalf of the Council.
The role will be mainly office based, but we also need candidates to have the ability to effectively work from home, when required.

We are looking for a highly motivated team player to join our Housing Options Team.
The Housing Options Team areresponsible for preventing and relieving homelessness under the Homelessness Reduction Action 2017 and as well as managing the Council’s Housing Register.
Reporting to the Housing Options Manager you will carry out assessments of homeless applications to determine what statutory duties are owed to customers. You will then help customers either retain their existing accommodation or help them secure alternative accommodation.
You will have your own caseload and participate in the team’s duty rota.
The role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills with a wide range of people and organisations.
Your experience of working in a challenging front line homelessness or similar service will help you to remain calm under pressure while delivering the highest levels of customer service.
You will have a good understanding of the homelessness legislation and state benefits as well as having excellent IT skills and the ability to keep accurate records and meet deadlines.&nbsp;

<h2>About the role</h2><h3>You will carry out high-standard electrical&nbsp;upgrades and testing both in our&nbsp;residents’ homes and in communal areas. Delivering high customer service and meeting all safety, quality and cost control standards.</h3>You will mainly be working in occupied properties within the Brighton and Hove area either on your own or in a small team. The key tasks will be:<ul>
<li>Upgrading electrical installations in both communal and domestic settings&nbsp;to ensure they meet the requirements of the Wiring Regulations</li>
<li>Testing electrical installations in both communal and domestic settings producing certification as necessary (including EIC's, EICRs etc.)</li>
<li>Detecting, locating and diagnosing faults&nbsp;</li>
<li>Rewiring circuits or full installations as necessary</li>
<li>Working with asbestos (you will be fully trained and equipped&nbsp;to work on non notifiable non licenced asbestos)</li>
<li>Installing full smoke detection and gateway system</li>
<li>Producing Smoke Detection certification</li>

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is term-time only.
