The People Change Team sits within People Services, part of the Strategy and Central Services Directorate. It is a small but high-impact team working collaboratively across People Services and the wider organisation. The team leads on the development and delivery of OPG’s Strategic Workforce Plan and the people-focused elements of the transformation portfolio. Our purpose is to ensure OPG has the right people, culture, and capability to deliver its priorities, now and in the future, by leading workforce planning and enabling effective organisational change. Duties and Responsibilities • Support the development and delivery of the strategic workforce plan, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and budgets. • Lead and coordinate people-focused change activity across transformation projects, including managing the Change Champions Network. • Support the development and implementation of change management plans that address the people impacts of organisational change. • Analyse workforce data and trends to provide insights, identify risks and opportunities to provide insight and inform evidence-based decision-making. • Produce clear, accessible reports, briefings, and presentations for senior leaders, committees, and wider stakeholders. • Develop and deliver engagement approaches such as FAQs, focus groups and pulse surveys, providing analysis and recommendations of actions. • Collaborate with senior leaders, HR colleagues, and cross-government networks to share best practice and drive improvement. • Represent People Services at meetings and working groups, providing professional advice on people change and workforce planning. • Manage competing priorities effectively, delivering high quality outputs within tight deadlines. • Take responsibility for personal development, maintaining and enhancing professional knowledge in change management, HR, and workforce planning. The successful candidate will be expected to work from their base location on a weekly basis in line with current Civil Service requirements, outside of any reasonable adjustments. We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to join Canary Wharf College&nbsp;Trust&nbsp;(CWC) at an exciting time of growth and transition. The role will initially support&nbsp;leaders across&nbsp;CWC&nbsp;before&nbsp;our three&nbsp;schools&nbsp;join&nbsp;University Schools&nbsp;Trust (UST) as of&nbsp;September 2026,&nbsp;at which&nbsp;point this role will join&nbsp;UST's&nbsp;Central&nbsp;HR&nbsp;Team to&nbsp;support&nbsp;delivery of ER leadership&nbsp;across the&nbsp;organisation.&nbsp;&nbsp;
This is a senior, influential role responsible for leading complex employee relations&nbsp;activities,&nbsp;providing&nbsp;expert advice to Headteachers, Senior Leadership Teams (SLT) and line managers, and embedding consistent, legally compliant ER practice. You will play a key role in shaping a positive employee culture while supporting organisational change and transformation.&nbsp;
Key Responsibilities&nbsp;

<li>Act as the Trust’s subject matter expert for employee relations,&nbsp;providing&nbsp;authoritative advice on complex and high-risk cases&nbsp;</li>
<li>Lead and manage complex ER casework across the Trust, ensuring consistency,&nbsp;fairness&nbsp;and compliance with employment law&nbsp;</li>
<li>Line manage and develop the Senior HR Adviser, ensuring delivery of a high-quality ER advisory service&nbsp;</li>
<li>Advise Headteachers and SLT on capability, disciplinary matters, grievances, change management,&nbsp;restructures&nbsp;and equality-related issues&nbsp;</li>
<li>Lead statutory consultation processes, including restructures,&nbsp;redundancies&nbsp;and TUPE transfers&nbsp;</li>
<li>Support preparation for potential Employment Tribunal claims and&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;high standards&nbsp;of ER documentation&nbsp;</li>
<li>Build and&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;effective relationships with recognised Trade Unions, supporting JCC meetings and collective consultation&nbsp;</li>
<li>Lead proactive conflict resolution and early intervention approaches, including mediation&nbsp;</li>
<li>Analyse ER data and trends (disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence) and provide insights and recommendations to senior leaders&nbsp;</li>

The Post
