Nursery School, Brighton","locationType":3,"description":"<h2>Job introduction</h2><p><strong>Job Title: </strong>Lead Teacher – Primary PRU Assessment Centre</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Central Hub Brighton, based in Fairlight Primary and Nursery School </p><p><strong>Reports To:</strong> Head Teacher of Central Hub Brighton, with support onsite from the Head of Fairlight School</p><p><strong>Salary:</strong> Leadership Scale 1-5 </p><p><strong>Contract Type:</strong> Full Time, Permanent Start Date: September 1st, 2025, or sooner</p><p>An Exciting Opportunity to Shape the Future of Primary Education in Brighton and Hove</p><p>With the expansion of Central Hub Brighton’s Tier 3 provision at Connaught Road, we are looking to establish a new 10-place Tier 2 PRU to provide intensive 12-week assessment and intervention programmes for Key Stage 2 pupils at risk of permanent exclusion. </p><p>Your role will be to lead the team to empower students to overcome barriers, reignite their love for learning, and successfully transition back to mainstream settings.</p><p>This collaboration between Central Hub Brighton and Fairlight Primary and Nursery School offers a dedicated provision within the building, featuring a separate entrance and access to the school's resources and leadership expertise.</p><p>We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Lead Teacher with a strong leadership presence, a deep understanding of behaviour management, and an unwavering commitment to helping every child thrive academically and socially.</p><h2>About the role</h2><p>Key Responsibilities</p><p>Leadership & Management</p><ul>\n<li>Inspire, lead, and manage a small, team dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable pupils.</li>\n<li>Shape and develop an innovative intervention programme that aligns with Central Hub Brighton’s vision.</li>\n<li>Support and mentor primary staff, ensuring ongoing professional development and high teaching standards.</li>\n<li>Implement effective behaviour management strategies, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.</li>\n<li>Be the key liaison for pupils, families, and external agencies, ensuring a cohesive approach to student success.</li>\n</ul><p>Curriculum & Teaching</p><ul>\n<li>Design and deliver a tailored curriculum that meets the needs of pupils in short-term assessment placements.</li>\n<li>Develop innovative teaching strategies to break down learning barriers and support reintegration into mainstream education.<ul>\n<li>Create a nurturing, inclusive learning environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated.</li>\n<li>Track pupil progress and implement targeted interventions to maximise learning outcomes.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with mainstream schools to ensure seamless transition plans for returning pupils.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Collaboration & Partnerships</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish trusting relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to support each child’s journey.</li>\n<li>Work closely with safeguarding teams and external specialists to ensure student well-being.</li>\n<li>Build strong connections with mainstream schools to create effective reintegration strategies.</li>\n<li>Foster teamwork and shared best practices across CHB sites and Fairlight School.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Operational Responsibilities</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee the daily operations of the PRU, ensuring smooth curriculum delivery and resource management.</li>\n<li>Contribute to the strategic development of CHB, particularly focusing on the new primary PRU.</li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with educational policies, safeguarding protocols, and health and safety regulations.</li>\n<li>Support the development and implementation of personalised learning plans (IEPs). </li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul><p>Important Information</p><p>School Visits</p><p>We warmly welcome potential applicants to visit the school.
