An opportunity has become available to join a team dedicated to delivering a high level of customer service at parks’ facilities across the borough.
This post is for casual hours only to help cover vacant shifts and will vary each week from 0 hours up to 16 hours. The role would suit someone with other commitments who enjoys working outside and is looking for some extra income.&nbsp; You&nbsp;must&nbsp;have a driving licence (manual) to be considered.
Your duties will include unlocking and locking of parks, regular patrols and helping to maintain a safe environment for visitors. You will be highly visible and proactively engage with members of the public, event organisers, community groups and sports teams.
In addition to these duties, you may assist with the day-to-day operation of seasonal facilities including the Stoke Park Visitor Point, paddling pool and Chantry Wood campsite.&nbsp; Training will be provided.
With excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly and enthusiastic manner, you will be able to interact with members of the public in a tactful and diplomatic way. You will be flexible and reliable with the ability to work alone and prioritise workloads. You will be required to keep written records and ensure that administrative tasks are completed in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.
To be successful as a Park Ranger, candidates should be professional, polite, and committed to delivering a high level of customer service. You must feel confident to challenge the misuse of facilities, complete general administration tasks and have good time management skills with the ability to work to fluctuating demands.&nbsp;
Hours of work:

<li>Hours are offered on a casual basis (0-16 hours per week) as per the needs of the service.</li>
<li>Hours will be available between 7:00am – 8:30pm, seven days a week (including bank holidays). Typically, casual shifts are usually 4 hours and are often either 7am – 11am or 4:30pm - 8:30pm.</li>

<li>Ensure that sites are opened and closed to help prevent damage/theft to park facilities</li>
<li>Be responsible for basic maintenance checks of vehicles, equipment and tools; reporting any defects and completing necessary documentation</li>
<li>Manage sport facilities, issue tickets and sports equipment.&nbsp; These duties include basic operation of the paddling pool in Stoke Park to the standards required as per the National Pool Plant Operators qualification (training provided)</li>
<li>Maintain an efficient working relationship with internal Guildford Borough Council departments and external partners</li>
<li>Drive and be responsible for Guildford Borough Council vehicles</li>

Assistant Senior Manager
About the Role:
As the Assistant Senior Manager for Wirral Councils Parks &amp; Countryside Service you will ensure the efficient and effective management of the Service, including monitoring and contributing to the Parks &amp; Countryside business plan, performance management, establishing and maintaining governance systems to ensure the service complies with all statutory and corporate requirements, and creating and implementation of development programmes for all staff and volunteers.
This is a key post for the service, as the post holder manages approximately 50% of all Parks &amp; Countryside within Wirral, through 5 direct reports and a staff group of approximately 70 staff. This post is instrumental in delivering the Parks service and ensuring that Statutory and Regulatory requirements, including the Health &amp; Safety of visitors to the estates, are met.
You will be responsible for the management (including compliance and HR functions) and development of parks and countryside sites, open spaces, coastal areas, trees, playgrounds, events and allotments throughout the designated areas and the grounds maintenance of other sites on behalf of clients in line with current service level agreements within the designated areas.
This role has a specific focus, in addition to those duties within the Job Description, leading on all issues relating to Allotments, Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI's), Local Wildlife Sites and in particular the North Wirral Coastline and Dee Estuary.

You will need to demonstrate experience of leadership, service development, and knowledge of operational delivery of a high performing Parks &amp; Countryside Service, Wirral Council is rightly proud of its 35 Green Flag awards. In addition, the successful candidate will lead on all issues relating to Allotments, Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI's), Local Wildlife Sites and in particular the North Wirral Coastline and Dee Estuary.

As a member of the coaching team, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality sessions and courses, and the facilitation of our Pay &amp; Play hire. We are looking for enthusiastic instructors/coaches, who are passionate about the benefits of the outdoor experience and can deliver safe and fun sessions.
