We are looking for a proactive Deputy Parks &amp; Amenities Manager to support the delivery and development of the Council’s parks, open spaces, cemeteries and allotments. You will manage a team of Parks Officers, act as deputy to the Parks &amp; Amenities Manager, and lead on contract procurement, service improvements and the development of policies. This is a varied role where you will combine operational management with strategic input to enhance and sustain our green spaces.
About You
You will have an HND or degree (or be working towards) in Landscape Management or Horticulture, with significant experience in a similar role and in managing a team. Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills are essential, along with knowledge of parks related legislation, policies and democratic processes. You will also be IT proficient, analytical, and able to deliver high-quality work under pressure. A driving licence, access to a vehicle, and flexibility to attend occasional evening or weekend meetings are required.
The post is offered on a permanent, full time basis (36 hours per week).

Sefton Council’s Green Sefton Service is recruiting for suitable casual staff to take care of our bird and small animal collection at Southport Botanic Gardens. 
Green Sefton is an exciting service which manages our special coast, parks and greenspaces: from our beautiful and internationally recognised coastline which supports some of the rarest flora and fauna in the country, to coastal habitats which are rarer than rainforest, through to our historic parks and gardens, 160 other greenspaces, and our sport and recreation facilities. As part of the Facilities Management Team, the successful applicant(s) will assist in the day to day care of the ‘aviary’ collection, which includes exotic birds, rabbits and guinea pigs, mainly rescue animals that have been donated or gifted over a number of years.
This is a casual role, to provide holiday and sickness absence cover, so there are no set hours. Full induction and training will be given.
We are looking for applicants who clearly love working with and caring for birds and animals. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working in a similar setting and have suitable qualifications in animal care.
An excellent communicator, you will be an enthusiastic ambassador for the Service and keen to inform visitors to the Botanic Gardens about the collection and related topics.

An opportunity has become available to join a team dedicated to delivering a high level of customer service at parks’ facilities across the borough.
This post is for casual hours only to help cover vacant shifts and will vary each week from 0 hours up to 16 hours. The role would suit someone with other commitments who enjoys working outside and is looking for some extra income.&nbsp; You&nbsp;must&nbsp;have a driving licence (manual) to be considered.
Your duties will include unlocking and locking of parks, regular patrols and helping to maintain a safe environment for visitors. You will be highly visible and proactively engage with members of the public, event organisers, community groups and sports teams.
In addition to these duties, you may assist with the day-to-day operation of seasonal facilities including the Stoke Park Visitor Point, paddling pool and Chantry Wood campsite.&nbsp; Training will be provided.
With excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly and enthusiastic manner, you will be able to interact with members of the public in a tactful and diplomatic way. You will be flexible and reliable with the ability to work alone and prioritise workloads. You will be required to keep written records and ensure that administrative tasks are completed in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.
To be successful as a Park Ranger, candidates should be professional, polite, and committed to delivering a high level of customer service. You must feel confident to challenge the misuse of facilities, complete general administration tasks and have good time management skills with the ability to work to fluctuating demands.&nbsp;
Hours of work:

<li>Hours are offered on a casual basis (0-16 hours per week) as per the needs of the service.</li>
