Job Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity to join Telford & Wrekin Council’s Transport Team who are responsible for the delivery of safe, reliable, sustainable, and innovative value for money transport services to the residents of Telford.

Experience in Private Hire work is desirable for this role, although full training and support would be given. D1 entitlement is not required for the role, although may be desirable. If you want to help make a positive difference to the lives of people across Telford and Wrekin, we'd love to hear from you.

This role is 12.5 hours per week. Further hours may be available.

To drive and be responsible for the operation of a licensed vehicle which provide specialist transport to passengers, including children with special educational needs, adults with disabilities and social care clients accessing bespoke transport services.

The post holder will support clients and their families and work closely with the passenger assistant (where applicable), and office team to ensure that the safety, comfort and dignity of all passengers is respected at all times.

Successful candidates will possess good communication skills (both written and verbal) and organisational skills, be excellent team players and have a positive and flexible attitude.
