You will be instrumental in all of this; supporting our residents and helping them to understand the role good planning makes in shaping an area.
About you

<li>You are a dynamic, motivated and organised planning professional with experience of preparing development plan policies and implementing them.</li>
<li>You must be able to show that you have a sound knowledge and clear understanding of current law, national policy and guidance related to development planning.</li>
<li>You will have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with colleagues, Councillors and the community. Being politically astute will also serve you well.&nbsp;</li>

Ultimately you will have an important role to play in helping us to shape Elmbridge.

The Business Support Team is the engine room that supports the entire Planning Service. The team validates and registers all planning applications, processes Planning Appeals, plays a key role in the administration and monitoring of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and is responsible for leading our programme of process review, system updates as well as driving and monitoring our overall service performance.&nbsp;
You could be starting out in your career or have established skills in providing the support within a Planning or other local authority department. Experience of validating and registering planning applications would be an advantage, but don’t worry if you don’t have any experience as we provide a full training package.
