Job Introduction

About Us
An exciting opportunity has come up within the Planning Process team for a fixed term role of Planning Applications Officer. To support the County Council’s process for responding to Major Planning Consultations from Oxfordshire’s District Councils and pre-application enquiries from prospective developers, ensuring the process operates smoothly and efficiently and that all relevant deadlines are consistently met. The County Council operates an approach whereby we provide a single and unified response to planning applications this is managed as a single response. The job is based in County Hall, Oxford. About the Role
The post holder will provide support as part of the Planning Process Team to the various service teams in Oxfordshire County Council through the Single Response processes, as directed by the Planning Process and Response Manager.


About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic person with strong IT skills (Microsoft Office and database systems) and excellent communication skills. You will work with complex data, so accuracy is essential. You will process around 40–50 planning applications per month, so you must be organised, detail-focused and able to work at pace, with a customer-focused approach.
