We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and supportive team as a Direct Payment Assistant.

This is a varied administrative role supporting the effective delivery of Direct Payments across Kent, helping to ensure people can access and manage their Direct Payment arrangements effectively.

You will work closely with colleagues across Adult Social Care, partner organisations, people receiving Direct Payments and their representatives, helping to ensure that Direct Payments are established, maintained and monitored efficiently.

The role requires strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and confidence in using a range of IT systems. You will need to be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, provide excellent customer service and work both independently and as part of a team.


Your responsibilities will include:

- Processing Direct Payment paperwork and maintaining accurate records

- Using client systems and databases to support service delivery

- Supporting the completion of Direct Payment monitoring reviews

- Managing shared email inboxes and responding to enquiries

- Providing information and guidance through the Direct Payment Helpline

- Supporting the administration of Personal Assistant recruitment advertising

- Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner teams across Kent


The successful applicant will be organised, reliable and flexible, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and maintain accuracy when working with detailed information. Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams, are essential.


This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
