The Post
We’re looking for passionate, resilient individuals to join our specialist service, helping families with no recourse to public funds and intentionally homeless families &nbsp; to the support they need and enabling them to live in a cohesive community and gain the voice to contribute to service delivery.&nbsp;
In this fast-paced and dynamic role, you will:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Assess the circumstances and needs of needs of clients without recourse to public funds, intentionally homeless and those with failed habitual residency test.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Identify realistic and sustainable accommodation and subsistence solutions&nbsp;</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with partners to support families with no recourse and those who are intentionally homeless</li>
</ul>
You’ll be based at our office in Wembley on a rota basis, with the flexibility to work from home on some days.&nbsp;
This is a front-line role where you will be expected to work from our office in Wembley depending on the rota. You will also be able to work from home on some days in the week. &nbsp;However, the role requires frequent travelling within and outside of London to areas like the Midlands.&nbsp;
Knowledge and experience of working in the no recourse to public funds, housing, citizen’s advice and Section 17 (Children Act 1989) support. This is not essential as full training will be provided. This is an exciting opportunity to begin a career in the sector.&nbsp;

Job Title:&nbsp;Housing Support Worker
Location:&nbsp;Based primarily in Brent, (Main office near the Civic Centre), you will provide support to Brent residents and participants in a variety of settings, including their homes, community locations, Brent Hubs, and libraries across the borough. Please be kindly aware although there is step free access at our base office, we cannot guarantee step free access in our outreach sites and participant homes.
Salary:&nbsp;£27,000
Shift Pattern:&nbsp;37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday on a rota which can range between 08:00 - 16:00, 09:00 - 17:00 and 10:00 - 18:00. You may be required to work outside these hours dependent on service and participant requirements.&nbsp;
<h4>About the Role</h4>
We're hiring a Housing Support Worker to join our floating support service which is based in Brent. The service supports adults who have been or are at risk of homelessness, have experienced social exclusion, have previous criminal convictions, suffer with their mental health, have substance misuse, and/or could have a learning disability. You will support participants on their journey towards recovery, reablement, and independence, all within a compassionate, trauma informed environment.
In this role, you'll be at the heart of delivering high quality, person centered support through tailored support plans which provide practical interventions, to empower our participants to overcome personal challenges, develop life skills, and achieve their personal goals. You will also work closely in partnership with various organisations to support the different needs of our participants, which may include signposting. Join us on the journey to empowering people to be the best versions of themselves!&nbsp;
Key Responsibilities Include:
<ul>
<li>Support participants will all aspects of their housing needs to support them ensure sustainable housing.</li>
<li>Co-create tailored support plans which are centred towards the participants needs.</li>
<li>Signpost participants with local providers to support with their independence such as with Job Centres, employment support hubs, community support centres, mental health trusts and other as relevant.</li>
<li>Recognise support needs in an individual and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent further deterioration.</li>
<li>Complete safeguarding and other referrals where required.</li>
</ul>
<h4>About You</h4>
This role is ideal for someone who has a real passion towards helping others to achieve greater independence. You will thrive in a person centred environment with real compassion and a non judgmental attitude, understanding that people face different life experiences and sometimes just need that extra support to get back on their feet. We're looking for someone with a genuine passion and felt purpose to help people, challenge stigma, and make a real difference to people’s lives! You will have:

<li>Understanding of the housing support needs that people with multiple, and complex needs face</li>
<li>Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector</li>
<li>Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs</li>
<li>Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents</li>
<li>Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with complex needs</li>
