Role Overview: The ideal candidate will possess a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have&nbsp; proven experience or training in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and&nbsp; Disabilities (SEND).
Essential qualifications include Level 3 teaching Assistant qualification or degree&nbsp; equivalent. The role also requires a strong knowledge of Speach and Language therapy,&nbsp; strategies in an educational setting and a solid understanding of safeguarding policies.&nbsp; Desirable qualifications include additional SEND certifications, first aid certification, and&nbsp; experience in a primary school setting.
The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, and&nbsp; behaviour management skills, and be empathetic, adaptable, and a team player&nbsp; committed to professional development. Responsibilities include supporting the&nbsp; communication and language development of pupils with autism and complex&nbsp; communication needs. Working under the guidance of a qualified Speech and Language&nbsp; Therapist (SALT), the postholder delivers targeted interventions, supports classroom&nbsp; communication strategies, and helps pupils access learning through tailored support. This&nbsp; role is essential in promoting functional communication, social interaction, and language&nbsp; development in a structured and inclusive learning environment.

The governors at Acresfield Academy are looking to appoint an excellent teaching assistant to join our school from September to work with the children accessing support from our resource provision.&nbsp; This is a really exciting opportunity to join a dedicated, forward-thinking team.
