The Job Role
As Civic Chauffeur, you will be responsible for transporting the Chairman and Civic party to official engagements, ensuring timely arrivals through effective route planning and providing courteous support throughout events. You will also assist with the care and security of the Chains of Office, maintain the Civic vehicle to a high standard, and support the Civic Officer in hosting events.
The role also includes administrative tasks, photography for Civic records, and occasionally deputising for the Civic Officer. This is a key role in representing the Council at public functions and supporting the smooth delivery of Civic events.
About You
This role involves long and unsociable hours, and the workload can fluctuate significantly due to the nature of Civic engagements. The successful candidate must therefore be highly flexible, with the ability to work variable shifts — including evenings and weekends — sometimes at short notice.
You must hold a full, clean driving licence and be confident in planning routes and driving to a high standard. While previous chauffeuring experience is desirable, full training will be provided. We are looking for someone who is positive, hardworking, and reliable, with a professional and courteous manner. You should be comfortable working independently, take pride in your appearance and conduct, and be willing to support the wider Democratic Services team when needed.

A School Crossing Patrols is employed to help children (and any adult who would like to be assisted) to cross the road at designated points, between specified times during term time. Uniform and training are provided. This post is term time only, with the hours on duty split across a morning and afternoon. We currently have a number of vacancies across the Borough. Expenses will be paid for travelling over 1 mile.&nbsp;

The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of the safe crossing of pupils and other pedestrians at a specific location going to and from school, ensuring their health and safety at all times. The post is for a School Crossing Patrol Monday to Friday which will consist of two shifts per day, one at the beginning of the school day and one at the end. You will comply with our policies and ensure regulations are adhered to, within the School Crossing Patrol Guidelines and Handbook. You must be an effective communicator and will be expected to liaise with management, parents, learners and the school successfully.
