Making a Difference as an Intermediate Care Support Worker in Adults Services

Our Support Workers are critical to our teams. When you join us, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and assist professional members of our Contact Cares service to provide integrated, multidisciplinary programmes of reablement aimed at promoting independence and helping to restore/maintain the service user’s ability to remain within the community.

We are seeking to employ Intermediate Care Support Workers (ICSW) who enjoy working with adults aged 18+. The aim of the service is to support vulnerable adults to be as independent for as long as possible, safely in their own homes.

NVQ Level 2 in Care, NVQ Level 3 in Promoting Independence and First Aid / Food Hygiene Certificate would be advantageous, but St Helens Council will provide you with the necessary training and support to enjoy and to succeed in the role. This is an exciting opportunity for you to utilise existing skills and develop new ones. You will receive continuous support, development, and career progression opportunities on your journey with us. The posts will require you to regularly attend the St Helens office and travel around the St Helens and surrounding areas.

We ask applicants to be flexible and able to use initiative when putting into practice rehabilitation/care support programmes set up by professional staff/team leaders. You will need to demonstrate positive interpersonal and communication skills with clients, carers and professional colleagues, demonstrating the ability to work both unsupervised but also using your own initiative where appropriate and within a team setting.

A driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.
