An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Learn Hillingdon Adult Community Education as a Sessional Tutor. As part of our journey from a Good to Outstanding Ofsted rating, we are seeking enthusiastic and committed professionals to deliver high-quality learning opportunities to adults across the London Borough of Hillingdon.

We are recruiting tutors across a range of curriculum areas, including:

  • Adults with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (ALDD)
  • British Sign Language (BSL)
  • Childcare
  • Counselling
  • Cookery and Nutrition
  • ESOL
  • English
  • Maths
  • Health and Social Care
  • Digital Skills and Cyber Security

Working at various locations across the borough, you will play a key role in helping learners gain new skills, improve confidence, achieve qualifications and progress towards their personal, educational and employment goals.

You will

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, high-quality learning programmes.
  • Assess, monitor and support learner progress to enable achievement of learning outcomes and qualifications.
  • Create an inclusive, supportive and safe learning environment for all learners.
  • Maintain accurate learner records, registers, assessments and course documentation.
  • Promote and embed safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity and inclusion within your teaching practice.
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes and continuous service improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, partners and community organisations to provide an excellent learner experience.
  • Keep up to date with developments in your subject area, teaching practice and awarding body requirements.

About You

You will be passionate about adult learning and committed to helping learners achieve their full potential.

You will have:

  • Relevant subject expertise and qualifications.
  • A teaching qualification, or a willingness to achieve one within an agreed timeframe.
  • Experience of delivering engaging learning and assessment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Good IT skills, including the use of digital technologies to support teaching and learning.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • A positive, flexible and learner-focused approach.
