    About us

High Peak School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education for children aged 7-16 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and associated speech, language and communication needs, and pupils who have experienced Emotional Based School Non Attendance (EBSNA).

High Peak School provides a specialist environment and support primarily for autistic children and those needing a similarly adapted approach with small classes of up to 6 pupils within our calm, nurturing setting. Our school caters for children from the age of 7 up to 16 years (Key Stages 2, 3 and 4).

We help children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who may be struggling to keep up with the pace of work, may be losing confidence, or struggling with the overwhelming sensory environment of their mainstream school. We also help children who have been out of education for a period of time, to positively re-engage in an education which takes into account any negative experiences they may have had in schools so far.

We are looking for people to join our staff team who have the creativity and enthusiasm needed to deliver the best outcomes for children and young people.

Kedleston Group Limited is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its children and young people, and we expect all staff to share this commitment. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You will be expected to engage in annual safeguarding training, be familiar with key policies, and ensure you know the steps to take should you be made aware of safeguarding or child protection concern. You will

remain vigilant and act swiftly if you have concerns about a child and always be an appropriate role model for both children and colleagues.

The successful candidate is required to provide references and will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS check. We will ask you to complete a criminal self-declaration form, and we will conduct online searches for information that is publicly available. We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming application from all sections of the community. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
