An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Domestic Abuse Hub as a Family Worker, specifically to support families who are affected by domestic abuse.
The Domestic Abuse Hub is a multi-agency team of Police, Education, Family Workers and Independent Domestic Violence Advocates. Between us, we respond to concerns relating to domestic abuse of all levels of risk. The Hub also coordinates the MARAC process.
About the Role:
As a Family Worker, you will provide support to families on a one-to-one basis, co-facilitate group work programmes and work with adults who have caused harm.&nbsp; You will be contacting survivors of domestic abuse and helping them to implement interventions to manage the risk and reduce the trauma for their children and themselves.
About the Candidate:
You will need to have a sound knowledge base in relation to understanding the complexities of domestic abuse and be prepared to work utilising a whole family approach. You will need have undertaken training or be prepared undertake level 2 domestic abuse training.

Key Responsibilities <ul><li>Lead and Inspire: Manage and supervise a team of early years practitioners, ensuring high-quality Early Help services and positive outcomes for children and families.</li> <li>Collaborate Across Sectors: Work closely with health, education, voluntary, and statutory partners to deliver flexible, community-based programmes that meet local needs.</li> <li>Empower Families: Promote parental engagement through forums and evidence-based parenting programmes, supporting family relationships and child development.</li> <li>Drive Service Improvement: Oversee data collection and performance analysis to inform continuous development and achieve service targets.</li> <li>Safeguarding &amp; Compliance: Ensure adherence to safeguarding, health and safety, and council policies, acting promptly on concerns.</li> <li>Leadership Support: Deputise for the Best Start for Life Team Manager and provide cover for other managers when required.</li> <li>Flexible Working: Participate in a rota covering early mornings, evenings, and weekends, with travel across the borough and nationally.</li> </ul> About You You will be an organised, proactive, and confident professional who thrives in a fast-paced Early Years environment. With a strong understanding of Early Years development and local Children’s Services you bring both precision and empathy to your work. You can balance timely decision-making with the diligence required to ensure accuracy and compliance.
