We're looking for a Recovery Worker to join our night team in successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our male residents and participants into the community. In this role, you will provide pathways, support, and appropriate interventions to enable successful resettlement. You will also collaborate with internal and external partners and agencies to achieve desired outcomes. &nbsp;&nbsp;
Our Complex Needs Accommodationprovides supported accommodation, bespoke person-centred care and support as well as intensive housing management services in the community for adults with specific accommodation and well-being support needs. You will ensure the smooth running of the night service by conducting welfare checks, supporting residents, and handling any issues that arise. The role includes completing administrative tasks and providing thorough handovers with day staff and managers to maintain consistent service.

Our Private Sector Housing team seeks to improve the conditions and management standards of private sector housing.
You’ll assist the team in achieving this by leading on the changes brought in by the Renters Rights Act to the delivery of housing enforcement standards, ensuring private sector residential accommodation throughout the District meets statutory standards and helping to bring about improvements in conditions and standards of management for residents.
You will deliver service improvements by developing new working processes and building relationships with partners to meet the requirements of the Renters Rights Act.
You’ll be responsible for assessing a variety of properties using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and interpreting the results of these assessments to determine an appropriate course of action to deal with each hazard identified.
You will investigate complaints regarding housing conditions and undertake detailed surveys and inspections of residential accommodation throughout the District.
With your knowledge of Housing legislation, you’ll be comfortable using formal action where necessary, including attendance at Court where required.
This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks, Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles, with your working time split between the office and home (2-3 days).

Key Responsibilities:

<li>Undertake Internal Audit across a wide range of audit assignments from the approved Internal Audit Plan.</li>
<li>Work within statutory, Council and Government guidelines and ensuring statutory compliance in the delivery of internal audit. (IIA’s Global Internal Audit Standards &amp; Audit and Accounting Regulations).</li>
<li>Maintain and update the knowledge of Internal Audit throughout the Council including developing best practice and contributing to continuous improvement in service delivery.</li>
<li>Undertake follow up reviews to ensure that treated concerns raised have been implemented, obtaining the required evidence to support the implementation.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Provide advice and input to the delivery of excellent customer service within the Council and to external clients.</li>
<li>Focus on securing value for money, being agile and adopting a commercial approach.</li>

Candidate Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Relevant qualification, or equivalent experience in internal audit or working towards membership of a relevant professional body.</li>
<li>Good knowledge of legislative frameworks surrounding the area of internal audit.</li>
<li>Good written and verbal communication skills, including presentations using appropriate MS office software.</li>
<li>Ability to understand multiple processes/systems within different Business Areas in order to undertake effective audit testing.</li>

You will be accountable to the Principal Building Control Officer, with support from the Team Leader - Building Control. The role sits within Planning and Building Control Service which is part of the Place Directorate in West Northamptonshire Council.
