From First Breath to Final Years - Build Relationships That Last a Lifetime

Join Our Primary Care Team

At Eyam Surgery, every role matters.

As part of DHU Healthcare, a not-for-profit healthcare provider, we're driven by compassion, respect and a commitment to delivering outstanding care for our communities. Here, your voice is heard, your ideas are valued and your professional development genuinely matters.

Join us and be part of something bigger.

For you. For them. With us.

Primary Care - GP Practices

General Practice offers a unique opportunity to care for patients throughout every stage of life. From supporting young families and managing acute illness, to helping patients live well with long-term conditions and providing compassionate end-of-life care, you'll build meaningful relationships that make a lasting difference.

Across our practices, we combine the continuity and community focus that make General Practice rewarding with the stability, support and development opportunities of a larger healthcare organisation.

Working alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams including GPs, Practice Nurses, Clinical Pharmacists, Healthcare Assistants, Care Coordinators and administrative colleagues, you'll be supported to deliver safe, effective and personalised care while developing your own professional interests and career aspirations.

Why Join Us?

At Eyam Surgery we recognise that no two GPs are the same. That's why we work collaboratively with our clinicians to develop mutually agreed job plans that support both the needs of our patients and the professional interests, strengths and ambitions of our GPs.

We believe the people delivering care are best placed to help shape it. Our clinicians are actively involved in conversations about service development, operational improvements and innovative ways of working, helping influence the future direction of Primary Care across our practices.

Working with us, you'll benefit from:

  • A mutually agreed job plan designed around safe, effective patient care.
  • Opportunities to influence service design and operational decision-making.
  • Supportive multidisciplinary teams including pharmacists, nurses, ACPs and care coordinators.
  • EMIS Web clinical systems.
  • Protected time for the activities that support safe clinical practice.
  • Opportunities to develop leadership, education, quality improvement and specialist interests.
  • Flexible working opportunities where service needs allow.
  • NHS Pension Scheme and continuity of service recognition where applicable.
  • The stability and support of a not-for-profit wider healthcare organisation (DHU) focused on delivering outstanding patient care.

Job Overview

As a Salaried GP within our Practice, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to diverse local communities.

You'll assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of presentations, providing safe and effective treatment across both routine and urgent care settings. Your clinical expertise will support patients with acute illness, long-term condition management, preventative healthcare and complex care needs, helping improve health outcomes and patient experience.

Working within EMIS Web and supported by experienced multidisciplinary colleagues, you'll contribute to continuity of care through clinical decision-making, prescribing, referrals, follow-up and collaborative care planning.

You'll work within a mutually agreed job plan, developed collaboratively to support high-quality patient care, professional fulfilment and sustainable ways of working. We recognise that excellent General Practice requires time for both patients and the important work that happens beyond the consultation. Our approach supports balanced clinical activity, protected time for key professional responsibilities and collaborative team working.

Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you'll have opportunities to contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, teaching, mentoring and innovative models of care across our practices.

Whether you're looking to develop a specialist clinical interest, gain leadership experience or simply practise high-quality General Practice within a supportive team environment, we'll work with you to create a role that supports both your career aspirations and the needs of our communities.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
  • Inclusion on the NHS England Performers List.
  • Excellent clinical decision-making skills.
  • A commitment to compassionate, patient-centred care.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • A desire to contribute to continuous improvement and professional development.

Development

We're committed to supporting your continuing professional development throughout your career.

Whether your interests lie in clinical leadership, medical education, quality improvement, digital innovation, population health management or developing a specialist clinical interest, we'll support you to grow and thrive.

You'll have opportunities to participate in peer learning, quality improvement activity, service development projects and multidisciplinary collaboration, while maintaining the protected learning and reflection required for appraisal and revalidation.

We believe professional curiosity, reflective practice and continuous improvement are fundamental to delivering exceptional patient care.

Benefits

We'll support your health, wellbeing and future with a comprehensive range of benefits designed around you.

From access to the NHS Pension Scheme (including recognition of existing NHS pension arrangements and continuity of service where applicable), to wellbeing support, flexible working options and career development opportunities, we're committed to helping you thrive both professionally and personally.
