Leading change that improves services, outcomes and experiences Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here. The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us. The Post The Change and Improvement team are at the centre of the council’s transformation programme, working across the organisation and with partners to deliver improved outcomes for Brent. This post is an incredible opportunity for someone with a passion for collaboration and innovation, with the ability to lead high-profile projects, work with multi-disciplinary teams and drive the corporate change and improvement programme. This role is about managing end to end projects from initial conception through to delivery. The Resident Experience Programme focus will include making services easier to access, reducing avoidable handoffs, improving first contact resolution and ensuring that digital change is inclusive, ethical and designed around real resident needs. You will need to bring together people from across the organisation, helping them work beyond directorate boundaries and focus on the experience residents have when they need support. This role will include coordinating and delivering a wide range of challenging, cross-cutting projects, developing new approaches and utilising innovative techniques to achieve efficiencies, customer-focused services and organisational culture change. The Person Brent Council is looking for an experienced and highly driven Project Manager with the ability to act strategically influence stakeholders and stimulate change. You’ll bring experience delivering digital, customer services or service transformation projects, alongside a strong understanding of customer needs. You’ll be passionate about creating simpler, more accessible, and more responsive services, and motivated by the opportunity to improve outcomes for residents. You’ll understand the challenges of channel shift, customer journey redesign, and resolving issues at first contact, using this insight to deliver projects that reduce complexity and improve outcomes for residents. As a strong communicator, you’ll quickly build effective working relationships with stakeholders — from senior managers to frontline teams, digital colleagues, community and voluntary sector leads and residents. You’ll work collaboratively across services, bringing people with you to keep projects on track, communicate progress and focus on delivering timely outcomes. You’ll have the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrating your strong project management skills to ensure plans, risks and dependencies are well managed and delivery stays on track. Experience of agile and waterfall methodologies, benefits realisation and outcome-focused delivery will be important. Experience working in customer services or resident-facing environments will be highly valued. Within the Resident Experience Programme, you will play a key role in delivering projects that improve how residents' access and experience council services. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of transformation, driving forward meaningful change. Why join us?
