About the Role

As a supervising social worker, you will provide a high quality and effective professional casework service, taking responsibility for working and managing a caseload within a framework of appropriate supervision, dependent upon the complexities of these cases and the social worker’s experience.

To work with foster carers, children and families to support vulnerable service users ensuring the needs of the child remain paramount.

To assess, plan, use evidence based analytical practice to implement and evaluate safeguarding measures to ensure all children are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

To work to a structured time management practice; submitting reports, assessments and plans within regulated timescales.

To maintain accurate written and computerised records, in accordance with agreed procedures and in order to meet legislative responsibilities.

To co-ordinate, and take a lead role in multi-professional/ agency groups and other professional meetings.

You will be part of a dedicated (fostering) support team committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people. Working alongside experienced Social Workers, Team Managers and multi-agency partners, you will contribute to a culture of collaboration, learning and continuous improvement. The service promotes high standards of practice, regular supervision and professional development, providing opportunities to progress through grades as your experience, skills and responsibilities grow.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will hold a recognised Social Work qualification and have active Social Work England registration. You will have experience of working with children, young people and families, including those from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. You’ll be able to complete high quality assessments, develop effective care and support plans, and apply relevant legislation confidently in practice. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, including the ability to prepare reports for reviews, conferences and court proceedings. You will also demonstrate sound analytical skills, a commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
