Are you passionate about improving health and wellbeing across Solihull? Do you want to shape the environments where people live, work, and learn??

We are looking for a Public Health Programme Officer to join our Healthy Places Team. You will play a key role in leading system wide action on shaping the environment for healthy active lives that help people live healthier, more active lives across Solihull.

You will be the strategic lead within the Healthy Places team for healthy food environments, placed-based partnerships and integrated green and climate health initiatives.

This is a varied and strategic role where you will work with a wide range of stakeholders, contribute to key strategies and present your work to senior leaders, elected members and partners. No two days are the same, and your work will directly impact population health outcomes.

You will have

• Experience of analysing data and using evidence to inform decision-making
• A track record of building effective relationships and influencing a wide range of stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presenting to different audiences
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

In return you will join a supportive and collaborative team where your expertise is valued and your contribution makes a real difference. You will have the opportunity to shape programmes, influence policy and deliver meaningful improvements to population health across the borough.

This is a chance to work at a strategic level while staying connected to communities and real-world outcomes.

We also offer:

  • Opportunities for training and development
  • A range of flexible working options including a flexi-time scheme
  • A hybrid model with a mix of working from home and Solihull Council House
  • Generous annual leave entitlements with the opportunity to purchase up to 10-days additional leave per year
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme – a 24-hour independent, free and confidential advice and support service
