We are looking for enthusiastic Senior Occupational Therapists to join our fantastic team, providing professional occupational therapy to children, young people and families living in Surrey. This role is for 18.5 hours per week, one day of which will be Wednesday.

The team has two offices bases, one in Woodhatch Place, Reigate and the other in Victoria Gate, Woking. However, this is a community-based hybrid role so will involve visiting children in their homes, working from your own home, and/or using any other Surrey County Council offices as and when required.

Our Offer to You

  • 26 days’ holiday, rising to 28 days after 2 years' service and 31 days after 5 years’ service
  • Option to buy up to 10 days of additional annual leave
  • A generous local government salary related pension
  • Up to 5 days of carer’s leave and 2 paid volunteering days per year
  • Paternity, adoption and dependents leave
  • An Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to support health and wellbeing
  • Learning and development hub where you can access a wealth of resources
  • Wellbeing and lifestyle discounts including gym, travel, and shopping
  • A chance to make a real difference to the lives of our residents

About the Role

Every child deserves the opportunity for participation and inclusion, to live in a home environment that supports and enables them to do the things that matter most to them, and their families. As a Senior Children’s Occupational Therapist, you’ll make that possible by working in partnership with children, parents, and carers to remove barriers and create safe, supportive spaces.

You’ll listen, assess and act - providing tailored advice, specialist equipment, and home adaptations that make a real difference. Whether it’s enabling a child to access essential facilities at home or helping parents feel confident in providing safe care, your work will transform everyday challenges into opportunities for independence and choice.

This is a role where your expertise really counts. You’ll manage complex cases, balancing risk and safeguarding while keeping the child’s needs and aspirations at the centre. You’ll collaborate with a wide network of professionals and partners to deliver solutions that work for families. And as a senior member of the team, you’ll share your knowledge, supporting and mentoring colleagues and students so they can develop too.

Our countywide Children’s Occupational Therapy service is built on partnership. We work alongside families and the multidisciplinary team around the child to create safe, supportive environments where children can flourish. You’ll join a well-established, passionate team within the Children with Disabilities Resources service, alongside the Children’s Crisis Service and Outreach teams — together making a lasting impact and ensuring no one is left behind.

We’ll support you every step of the way with learning opportunities, supervision, and a culture that encourages creativity and innovation. Because when you’re empowered, so are the children and families you serve.
