Wokingham Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Saturday Club Co-ordinator to lead our long-established Saturday Club, providing high-quality short breaks for children and young people with disabilities and valuable support to their families. The service has been supporting local families for around 30 years and is highly regarded by the children, young people and families who access it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Saturday Club and act as the Ofsted Registered Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with the Childcare Register, safeguarding requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Supervise and support the Team Leader and a team of up to 15 sessional staff.
  • Coordinate referrals, allocations and group planning for children and young people.
  • Maintain and update policies, procedures and service documentation.
  • Deliver medication competency training and ensure staff maintain required standards.
  • Attend reviews and multi-agency meetings to support positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Manage resources and budgets associated with the day-to-day operation of the club.
  • Promote equality, inclusion and anti-oppressive practice throughout the service.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A recognised Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent.
  • Experience of working effectively with children and young people with disabilities.
  • Experience of managing, supervising or leading staff.
  • Knowledge of the Childcare Register and Ofsted requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
