About the role Are you a qualified Arborist/Tree Surgeon with excellent customer service skills? Do you want to work alongside a supportive team to deliver the maintenance of tree stock within the borough? Then this will certainly be the job for you!
Our friendly and dedicated Greenspaces Team is looking for an enthusiastic and qualified Arborist to join them. You will be required to support the delivery of the maintenance of tree stock within the borough of Reigate &amp; Banstead which will involve undertaking a full range of arboricultural works including pruning, felling and working at height. You will undertake a range of specialist tree management activities, such as coppicing and thinning and identify a range of tree species, to inspect, survey and recognise specific defects and associated hazards within individual trees.
You will also carry out and be responsible for the safe and correct application of pesticides, herbicides, and other chemicals, write and record site specific risk assessments and assist in the execution of all aspects of individual arboricultural operations and long-term work schedules. There will also be a requirement for you to support existing team in responding to emergency works and manage the on-site working environment when necessary.
About the Person:

<li>You will have strong experience of climbing and arboriculture operations.</li>
<li>You will have led an arb team/senior arborist.</li>
<li>You must have up to date appropriate First Aid training with climbing operations.</li>
<li>You will have experience of driving arboricultural associated vehicles and towing trailers/chippers.</li>
<li>Your knowledge/identification of arboricultural pests and diseases will be good and up to date.</li>
<li>You may have previous experience of working for/with Local Authorities.</li>
<li>You must have a valid driving licence with towing entitlement.</li>

Skills: 1.	Have the entry requirements to enrol on a BSc (Hons) Chartered Surveyor degree apprenticeship of a minimum 112 UCAS points, this can include A levels or BTEC qualifications. 2.	Have an interest in building surveying and a desire to learn and become a Chartered Building Surveyor, any knowledge and awareness of the building surveying role and skills will be an advantage. 3.	Have the capability to undertake research so that you can evaluate different building options such as products or building methods. You will be trained to prepare a specification of work, gain quotations and manage repair work. 4.	Have relevant experience of using all Microsoft packages; in particular be able to demonstrate practical IT skills using Word and Excel spreadsheets to analyse data and be able to use various software packages as part of undertaking a surveying role. You will be trained to use AutoCAD or similar drawing packages to support Building Surveyors by producing planning and building regulations drawings. 5.	Be organised and methodical when preparing and managing your own workload or undertaking surveys and have excellent attention to detail. You will be trained to carry out a range of practical surveys including stock condition surveys and how to diagnose building defects as well as assess quality of work undertaken. 6.	Be confident and a good communicator when working with all Housing staff, other departments, contractors and specifically our Local Authority Housing customers as most repairs and maintenance work is undertaken in occupation whilst our residents are living in their homes. 7.	Have excellent written skills demonstrating good spelling and grammar along with setting out and presentation skills and be proficient in communicating your point concisely within a report. 8.	Demonstrate an aptitude for understanding formal text, particularly legal text as set out in construction law. 9.	Have a positive attitude towards work, be resilient, embrace change and actively work with your colleagues to improve the service offered to customers. 10.	Demonstrate your ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve a common task and also your ability work under your own initiative. 11. About the role:
Horsham District Council is looking for&nbsp;a Principal Registered Building Inspector to lead on Building Control matters, to deliver a professional Building Control service and provide supervision to assist with the management of the work of others within the Building Control team.
As the Principal Registered Building Inspector, you will have a varied caseload of work requiring the effective application and understanding of the relevant Building Acts and associated legislation.
The role will involve working on a range of building projects, often in a fast-paced environment.&nbsp;&nbsp;Experience of progressing site inspections, dangerous structure investigations, plan checking and Building Regulation enforcement is essential.

You will work with children and young people who display challenging behaviour due to early life trauma.No two days are the same in our Residential Service - on your working days you could be taking your young person horse riding, painting, for a drive, for a walk, out shopping, or attending virtual schools. You will support children to achieve and grow through positive experiences.“You are there when I rise, when I eat, when I play, and you are there to put me to bed at the end of my day”.Our commitment to young people in our care is to be there around the clock for them. As part of your role you will complete relevant paperwork and work within relevant legislation.You will be part of a team working on a shift/rota basis; you will work together with the rest of the team, and your senior, to organise this in advance.&nbsp;&nbsp; Due to the nature of our care, there may be occasions where you need to swap shifts and working together with your team we can achieve this flexibility. As a Senior Residential Childcare Worker, you would need to do the following.<ul><li>Shift work including evening weekends, bank holiday and sleep in duties.</li><li>Lead and manage shifts.</li><li>Plan weekly activities for the young people.</li><li>Ensure the home is working to the regulations.</li><li>Line manage and supervise Residential Childcare Workers (RCWs).</li><li>Train and Develop RCWs.</li><li>Report writing.</li><li>Undertaking specialist training for the role</li><li>Oversee the children files, ensuring all documentation is update to date and relevant.</li><li>Manage incidents.</li><li>Maintain the safety of the young people, staff and home.</li></ul>Manage and report safeguarding concerns in line with policy and procedure.<h4>About you</h4>Essential:<ul><li>Minimum 9-12 month experience of working in residential children’s home.</li><li>Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent</li><li>Hold a full driving licence and business insurance.</li><li>Lead and manage shifts.</li><li>Willingness to undertake shift work.</li></ul>Desirable:<ul><li>Staff supervision</li><li>Attending/ leading meetings with key stakeholder</li><li>Working with families</li></ul>We welcome applications from candidates who currently reside in the UK with established proof of right to work documentation. Senior Residential Childcare Workers

The Environmental Education Project, based at Rosliston Forestry Centre delivers award winning outdoor sessions and provides fun learning experiences for schools, volunteers, corporate groups, individuals and families at Rosliston and across the National Forest. We are looking to expand our team with casual Rangers who can lead conservation groups of individual and corporate volunteers. Casual Environmental Education Rangers: days/ hours according to bookings and taking into account your availability and preferences.
