Chesnut Lodge is a highly regarded, vibrant community special school in Widnes. We cater for pupils aged 2–16 with complex physical, medical, and learning difficulties. Our school is a safe, secure, and incredibly positive environment where our staff work together to create happy memories and foster independence for all of our learners.
We are seeking a dedicated, proactive, and versatile School Premises Officer / Caretaker to join our team. In this essential role, you will be the custodian of our school—ensuring our buildings and grounds remain safe, warm, clean, and welcoming for our pupils, staff, and visitors.
The Ideal Candidate
You do not need to have worked in a special school before, but you must share our absolute commitment to safeguarding and the well-being of our pupils. We are looking for someone who:
- Is handy, practical, and comfortable undertaking minor repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Has a strong eye for detail regarding health and safety, COSHH, and site security.
- Is reliable, flexible, and enjoys being part of a warm, supportive school community.
- Is flexible and supportive of our community ethos
