School Business Manager

Full time: 37hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Grade 10 - SCP31 £41,771 - SCP35 £48,072 (Pay award pending)

The Bridge Short Stay School are looking to appoint an experienced School Business Professional to lead on the non-teaching aspects of school life, including ensuring the school remains on a stable financial footing. This post comes at an exciting time in the development of the school with plans being developed with the Local Authority to move to a new school building and an agreement to convert to Academy status as part of the national award winning, The People’s Learning Trust.

The Bridge works with students who have been permanently excluded or who are without a school place. The school received very positive OFSTED outcomes and feedback in May 2018 and 2024, we are passionate about providing a second opportunity to students who have struggled in education previously. While this role doesn’t entail working directly with students it is important that all colleagues share our ethos and belief in the ability of young people to change and to grow.

As a member of the SLT, the successful candidate will play a key role in the strategic development of the school. The post-holder will be well supported but given the autonomy to lead on the non-teaching functions of the school to ensure maximum effectiveness, efficiency and value for money.

A PRU environment is different to that of a mainstream school and provides different challenges. The ideal candidate will combine technical and analytical skills with high levels of resilience and strong inter-personal leadership of others.

This role is advertised as a full year contract, but flexible working requests to reduce the number of weeks per year would be supported for the right candidate.
