Join our Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) Team as an Occupational Therapist, where your professional development is a priority. In this part-time role, working 22.5 hours per week, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to residents' lives while developing your skills and expertise within a dedicated team. You will work closely with colleagues across Adult Social Care, housing partners, contractors and Housing Associations, contributing to creative, person‑centred solutions that make a real and lasting difference to residents’ independence and wellbeing.

About you...

You will be:

  • A HCPC‑registered Occupational Therapist with a recognised qualification
  • Experienced in major housing adaptations and Disabled Facilities Grant work
  • Confident working collaboratively with colleagues, service users and partner organisations
  • Able to assess complex housing needs and identify practical, proportionate solutions
  • Interested in developing your specialist knowledge and contributing to service improvement
  • Experienced in assessing and matching individuals to alternative or void properties when adaptations are not suitable

About the team...

The Disabled Facilities Grant team is a small, busy and supportive service that works closely with Adult Social Care, housing partners, contractors, and Housing Associations.

We deliver person-centred adaptations that meet long-term needs and ensure the best outcomes for our clients.

As a team, we support each other by working collaboratively to provide a holistic, timely, and cost-effective service that makes a real difference in people’s lives.

You will be joining a team that values professional trust, reflective practice and mutual support.

Key responsibilities...

  • Undertake person‑centred assessments to identify housing adaptations that promote safety, independence and long‑term wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with service users, colleagues and partners to develop and progress DFG solutions
  • Contribute specialist OT knowledge to multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions and service development
  • Produce clear, evidence‑based reports and recommendations to support DFG applications and adaptation specifications
  • Maintain accurate electronic records in line with professional and organisational standards
  • Engage fully in supervision, appraisal and ongoing professional development
  • Practice in accordance with council policies and the HCPC Code of Conduct and Standards of Proficiency
