Waste Collections HGV Driver

Grade: Scale 6 £35,520-£36,585

Hours: 36 per week

Location: Newham Depot, Folkestone Road

Contract Type: Permanent

About the Job

Newham Council is currently recruiting for Waste HGV Driver. The service area is seeking enthusiastic, highly motivated staff to safely deliver a range of services across the borough.

Are you looking for a demanding role to contribute to achieving a cleaner borough and assist the Council in its delivery to its National targets?

About You

The post will be physically demanding on a day to day basis and you will operate a range of vehicles, bin lift equipment.

Our services are in operation from 06.00 – 22.00 Monday to Saturday. We have opportunities to work across both the 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00 shift patterns.

To drive the full range of Council vehicles including HGVs and to have staff supervision responsibilities.” (taken from Level 3- Scale 6)

Full driving licence (Essential – Level 1) (C1 Licence Application Form/License. Essential – Level 2) (HGV 2 – Level 3) To possess a full driving licence appropriate to the level required to operate up to 7.5 tonne caged vehicles. Skip or Clinical Waste Drivers will need an ADR Certificate

About us

The London Borough of Newham is located only 5 miles east of London. It is well positioned with access to all major networks in London and the south east. When the Crossrail service opens it will call at Custom House close to our council offices and also Stratford station and from there to central London.
