    Are you passionate about supporting young minds and making a real difference in the classroom? We’re looking for a dedicated, energetic, and caring Food Technology Instructor to join our fantastic team!

    This is a full-time position and will include additional responsibilities that support the wider life, organisation and development of the school, which will be determined in line with the needs of the school and the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons that meet the needs, abilities and interests of learners.
    • Develop practical and theory-based learning activities that support curriculum objectives and individual learning goals.
    • Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, resources and practical activities as required.
    • Support pupils to develop safe and effective food preparation, cooking and kitchen management skills.
    • Promote good food hygiene, health and safety practices and safe use of equipment at all times.
    • Differentiate learning activities to meet the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
    • Use a range of teaching strategies to engage and motivate learners and support positive outcomes.
    • Assess, monitor and record pupil progress and achievement.
    • Provide regular feedback to pupils to promote confidence, independence and continuous improvement.
    • Use assessment information to inform planning and identify next steps for learning.
    • Contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and other pupil documentation as required.
    • Participate in examination, accreditation and assessment arrangements where appropriate.
    • Support pupils in developing literacy, numeracy and communication skills through Food Technology activities.

    What we’re looking for:

    • GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
    • Relevant qualification in Food Technology, Catering, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Nutrition or a related subject, or significant relevant vocational experience.
    • Commitment to undertaking relevant training and professional development.
    • Evidence of a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

    Desirable

    • Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety qualification (or willingness to obtain).
    • Teaching, training, coaching or assessor qualification.
    • Team Teach or other positive behaviour management training.
    • Experience of working towards accredited vocational qualifications.
