The Governors of St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, together with the Diocese of Shrewsbury and Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Academy Trust, are seeking to appoint an exceptional, faith-filled and ambitious Catholic leader to become our next Headteacher.

St Joseph's is a vibrant and welcoming Catholic school at the heart of the Winsford community. Rooted firmly in Gospel values, we are proud of our reputation as a school where children flourish spiritually, academically and personally. Our mission is simple yet powerful: "Our School is a family of faith, hope, love, fun and learning for all."

Our school is characterised by strong relationships, high expectations, a commitment to excellence and a genuine belief that every child is unique and created in the image and likeness of God. We work in close partnership with families, parish and community to ensure that children leave St Joseph's as confident, compassionate and successful young people, ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the future.

As part of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Academy Trust, the successful candidate will join a growing family of schools committed to educational excellence, Catholic formation and the power of collaboration.

The Governing Board are looking for a committed and practising Catholic who:

  • Demonstrates a deep personal faith and commitment to Catholic education.
  • Can inspire others through a clear vision rooted in Gospel values and Catholic Social Teaching.
  • Has a successful track record of leadership and school improvement.
  • Puts children at the heart of every decision and is committed to enabling all pupils to achieve their God-given potential.
  • Can build upon the school's strong culture of faith, hope, love and learning.
  • Values the importance of strong partnerships between home, school, parish and the wider community.
  • Is committed to nurturing the whole child spiritually, academically, emotionally, physically and socially.
  • Can inspire, motivate and develop staff through coaching, support and high expectations.
  • Has the strategic leadership skills necessary to secure continued excellence and future growth.
  • Will play a full part in the collaborative leadership opportunities offered through Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Academy Trust.

    We can offer:
  • A joyful and welcoming Catholic school community where faith is lived every day.
  • Wonderful children who are enthusiastic, caring and eager to learn.
  • A dedicated and hardworking staff team who are committed to providing the very best for every child.
  • Strong support from governors, parents, parish and Trust colleagues.
  • A school with a clear mission and an ambitious vision for the future.
  • Opportunities to work alongside experienced leaders across a growing Catholic Trust.
  • High-quality professional development and leadership support.
  • The opportunity to lead a school where Gospel values are evident in all aspects of school life.

    A community that values:
  • Gentleness and Humility
  • Forgiveness and Mercy
  • Peace and Tolerance
  • Holiness and Purity
  • Compassion and Dignity
  • Justice and Truth
  • Integrity and Faithfulness
  • Service and Sacrifice.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and strongly encouraged. This provides an excellent opportunity to experience the distinctive ethos, strong sense of community and family atmosphere that make St Joseph's such a special place to learn and work.
