About the role

EADS (Employment and Disability Service) is seeking a motivated Employment Development Officer to join our supported employment service.

This is a varied, field‑based role delivering personalised support in line with the five stages of supported employment to individuals with complex barriers to work.

The post holder will work flexibly across Northamptonshire, travelling between employer sites and co‑location settings as required.

Strong organisational skills, adaptability and a positive, solution‑focused approach are essential, along with a good understanding of supported employment and its impact. Building and maintaining effective relationships with employers is a key part of the role, and regular employer engagement, networking and attendance at events will be expected

What will you be doing?

As an Employment Development Officer, you will work directly with disabled people to provide tailored training, support, and development opportunities that help them secure and sustain paid employment. You'll build strong relationships with local employers, promote disability awareness, and advise on reasonable adjustments to create inclusive and accessible workplaces.

Working closely with businesses and partners across the community, you'll develop employment opportunities, maintain effective subcontractor networks, monitor health and safety requirements, and promote the skills and expertise of the service. You'll also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and ensuring confidentiality in line with data protection requirements.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll make a real difference by supporting individuals to achieve their employment goals while helping employers build diverse and inclusive workforces.

About you

We are looking for people who are:

  • Passionate about employment
  • Creative thinkers
  • Focussed on solutions
  • Organised and motivated
  • Good communicators
  • Flexible
