The role:

• This is more than a social media role. It is an opportunity to shape how one of the UK's most iconic cities communicates with hundreds of thousands of people every day
• You'll create engaging content that informs, inspires and connects people with the services, opportunities and events that make a difference to their lives, while helping them understand what is going on in the council and in their local area

• You'll create compelling content across our social media channels, producing everything from eye-catching graphics and engaging copy to reels, stories and short-form video
• Working alongside communications, engagement and marketing colleagues, you'll help bring major campaigns, city events and local success stories to life. One day you could be filming at a community event, the next creating content that helps residents understand important council services or showcasing investment that is transforming local neighbourhoods
• You'll use insight and performance data to continually improve content and identify new opportunities to grow engagement, increase reach and connect with new audiences
• We're looking for someone who lives and breathes social media. Most importantly, you'll bring fresh ideas, creative thinking and a social-first approach to everything you do
• You'll have experience creating highly engaging content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and emerging channels. You'll understand what makes audiences engage, share and act
