Residential Childrens Worker at The OutbackAbout the roleThe requirements of the role of an RCW within The Outback are varied and a summary of some of the typical tasks and duties of the post are included below. The service currently covers a vast area, working across the whole of Derbyshire. Much of the work of The Outback is undertaken in the family homes of the children, their schools or local communities. Therefore, it is essential that applicants are confident to travel around the county and are also able to transport young people as required.Edge of Care/Preventing Family Breakdown – These are bespoke support packages which are agreed with allocated social workers in order to support specific targets that are identified through safeguarding plans or legal processes. The worker will work with the children and family carers, offering support and advice to achieve the identified targets. This could include the development of Positive Behaviour Support, supporting parenting skills, bedtime routines, developing communication systems, family relationships, developing interaction through play and leisure activities. Other work may include supporting introductions/transitions to other resources and services. Working with young people to offer support at The Outback or in the local community - This can include 1:1 or 2:1 work with young people with complex needs, this will often be with young people who present high levels of challenging or distressed behaviour.To support residential settings across the county as and when required. About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in a newly created position which is a reflection of our dedication to ensure the highest standards of quality and continuous improvement across our adoption services.
The Adoption Quality and Development Lead plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality adoption and adoption support services. The post holder will lead on quality assurance activities, policy development, complaints investigations, and specific projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and contributing to continuous improvement. They will be one of PACT’s agency decision makers. They will also manage projects such as the birth relatives project and support digital and training initiatives. The role requires collaboration across teams, liaison with external agencies, and occasional cover for Team Managers.
About you:
We are looking for a qualified and registered social worker with substantial post-qualification experience in adoption and children’s services, including quality assurance and inspection preparation. You will have excellent knowledge of adoption legislation and standards, strong analytical and organisational skills, and the ability to influence and advise at all levels.

We currently have an opportunity for a Service Delivery Officer within the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)&nbsp; which also supports the Referral and Assessment Team on a permanent part time basis of 22.5 hours per week. The hours required are 9-5 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The role is rewarding, varied and fast paced; our main duties are to ensure that all referrals are processed and passed through to the MASH in a timely manner ensuring all statutory deadlines are met, the referrals can be made via email or phone and can come from all areas of the community from professionals and members of the public, these can be for Early Intervention support through to high risk child protection concerns.
As this team is the first point of contact for all areas of Children’s Services and the supports that are on offer, keys skills are required to include time management, flexibility, adaptability and attention to detail with good communication being the driving force behind why we can continue to provide a high level of support to an ever-expanding busy service.
We work closely with the MASH and Social Care teams ensuring we are available at often short notice to provide support for child protection meetings, with arranging and providing concise minutes within timescales, and general office administrative duties to include communication with families and professionals on case outcomes.
This is a hybrid position; office cover is required Monday to Friday on a rotational basis and the expectation is that at least 2 days per week are in the office with the remaining time working from home. The successful applicant will be expected to work mainly in the office for the first 2 weeks to familiarise themselves with work and the team.
We are looking for dynamic forward-thinking individual who is used to working to strict deadlines and performing under pressure as well as the ability to drive forward change and improve work processes.
Organisational and prioritisation skills are a must along with the ability to make decisions and deal with highly confidential information.

Adult Homelessness Support Worker - Open Door (St Albans)Full Time: 37.5 hours per weekDo you want to make a real difference in people’s lives? Open Door is a night shelter providing emergency accommodation for up to 12 single homeless people in St. Albans each night. We also offer a drop-in service for people who are street homeless.The Open-Door staff team offer a trauma-informed, safe environment that is person-centred and supports those who come through our doors to get access to the help they need.
