You must have a current Social Work England registration and have successfully completed your ASYE in a statutory children social care setting. We are looking for someone with experience of working with children and families that includes Child in Need and Child protection.
To succeed in this role, you will have knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, policies and thresholds. You will also be able to demonstrate strong assessment and analytical skills. You should have experience of working in partnership with children and their families and other professionals, to produce needs led plans for children and young people. You will have the ability to work both independently and effectively as part of a team.
Experience of working with children with disabilities and complex needs&nbsp;is desirable but not essential, as we will support you to develop this specialist knowledge.

The Children’s Specialist Support Team (CSST) is a highly skilled team working with children who have disabilities and/or complex health needs. We are an experienced, friendly and supportive team who focuses on ensuring that children are at the centre of all we do.&nbsp; We provide a range of services for children with additional needs and those who are assessed to have additional vulnerability. This includes the council’s statutory responsibilities for disabled Children in Need in the community (including care packages and short breaks).
The team is an eclectic mix of different service areas covering a wide breadth of work with children with disabilities, Occupational Therapy, Short Breaks (including Larchwood, our short break respite unit), Taking a child first and social model approach. Partnership and collaborative working is the key to our success.
The team is well integrated with local partners and works alongside specialist workers in domestic abuse, mental health and substance misuse, often in co-located settings.

As Financial Assessment Officer, you will be part of the Financial Assessments &amp; Payments Team within Adult Social Care. This role is responsible for determining whether individuals are required to contribute financially towards the cost of their care, in accordance with the Council’s policy and the Care Act. Key responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Conducts financial assessments and annual reviews under the Council’s Charging Policies and other legal frameworks, through desk-based work, in accordance with defined legislation, procedures and timescales so that the Council may correctly charge for social services care packages, respite and residential care.</li>
<li>Ensure that assessments and case visits are dealt with correctly and in a timely manner, giving advice and guidance as required</li>
<li>To obtain, record, review, verify and collate financial information/evidence for financial assessment and to undertake all aspects of the financial assessment work both for non-residential adult social care charging and Charging for Residential accommodation within agreed timescales to meet team targets. This could be through a variety of channels including home visits, appointments at the Council’s Offices, e-mail, post, or telephone.</li>
<li>Keep updated with current legislation and government changes, specifically in connection with the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.</li>
<li>To help train and coach colleagues on the team including new colleagues and cross training within the team as well as attendance at relevant meetings.</li>

Our role is to deliver a varied programme of repairs, maintenance, refurbishment, and redevelopment to our portfolio of housing stock alongside our Direct Services Organisation. We are open to flexible working patterns and can provide a hybrid working environment which utilises the best of both worlds with a mix of office working in central Reading and homeworking according to the needs of the Service. About the role: This is a key role within Housing Property Services, managing a team of building surveyors and a portfolio of your own projects as part of delivering our annual planned works programme. The role offers real variety and involvement in a wide range of exciting projects. We manage circa 6000 stock of residential property, from Victorian terrace houses, through to high rise flats and modern care facilities. Through partnership working, with both the tenant and contractor, you will arrange and manage works from inception to completion to ensure a seamless approach is delivered. Our planned works programme has an annual budget of circa £14 million, with additional multi-million pound refurbishment projects. The projects variety include house extensions for less able tenants, whole house refurbishment, kitchen &amp; bathroom replacement, elemental renewal, external decorations, and repairs and zero net carbon installs. Your work will include feasibility, design, planning, procurement and full contract and project management of a portfolio of projects. About you: We need you to be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and to have had prior experience of team management.&nbsp; You will need a proven background in the field of building surveying, building construction and project management and administration. Specific requirements:

We are looking for Deputy Team Manager Occupational Therapist for Brent’s Reablement Team which is&nbsp;an integrated service combining the fast-paced response to Pathway 1 Home First discharges and the delivery of reablement and social care services in a short term response team set up. The team’s ethos is about promoting and enabling independence and we have good working relationships with our partners and colleagues in the hubs and intermediate care.&nbsp;
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist, who have experience of working with adults with physical disabilities and older people to take an active role with day to day running of the Team in providing specialist advice, guidance, support and supervision to qualified and non-qualified social care and OT staff working within the team. Also the opportunity to develop the team services and role in delivering the Integrated Care Partnership.&nbsp;

Working with Brent’s Adult Social Care brokerage team on training of new Reablement Home Care providers.&nbsp;
Staff development and training for team members as an integral role in the retention and upskilling of the workforce in Adult Social Care.&nbsp;
The successful candidates will ideally have post graduate experience in Social Care and or Intermediate Care, have experience of supervising staff and or students in the work place and of working with Home Care providers and/or Reablement providers.

Career Progression Frameworks (CPF) have been introduced for all roles at Medway Council. These frameworks provide a mechanism for employees to take ownership of their development within their post and be rewarded accordingly.
