 About the role</h2>
We are looking for an outstanding public health policy and strategy officer to support a portfolio of work that improves the health and wellbeing of Londoners.
Your role will support the Public Health Consultants, each of whom will have their own portfolio of work with GLA group functional body stakeholders delivering the Group’s agreed priorities, including the GLA Group ‘Health in All Policies’ (HiAP) programme and relevant Mayoral commitments.&nbsp;&nbsp;
This post will be primarily focused on housing and planning related activity. Whilst experience in this area is an advantage, it is not a requirement. We are seeking a proactive and experienced Pensions Team Leader to support the Pensions Administration Manager in delivering a high-quality Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) service. This pivotal role involves leading a dedicated team within the administration function, overseeing case management, quality-checking work, and contributing to the interpretation and implementation of regulatory changes affecting the fund.
As Team Leader, you will ensure that service delivery meets agreed standards by identifying and driving process improvements, maintaining operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous development. You will play a key role in upholding the integrity of the scheme and ensuring a responsive, member-focused approach for all LGPS stakeholders.
In addition, you will be expected to deputise for the Pensions Administration Manager when required, offering leadership and guidance across the wider team and supporting strategic initiatives.

<h3>About You</h3>
You’ll have solid experience in Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) administration, ideally at a supervisory level, with the ability to interpret complex pensions legislation and manage challenging cases. Familiarity with pension administration systems and a track record of identifying process improvements will be key to your success.
You’re a confident communicator and a collaborative team player, able to work independently and respond effectively to shifting priorities and unexpected demands. Strong analytical and organisational skills are essential, especially when handling data, performance reporting, and managing workloads to tight deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications—particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint—is required. While industry qualifications such as PMI, CIPP or equivalent are desirable, we’re happy to support your professional development if you’re working toward them.

About the Role
As a Skills and Employment Broker, you’ll work with training providers, employers and other stakeholders to deliver our Skills Bootcamps programme.
Skills Bootcamps provide flexible hands-on training courses of up to 16 weeks, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with a local employer or progress in their current workplace. For employers, they give them the opportunity to upskill existing employees or recruit from a talent-pool of recently trained individuals to fill vacancies.&nbsp;
The programme is funded by Department for Education.
You will be expected to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a caseload of Independent Training Providers and FE colleges who deliver on the programme, as well as building good relationships with employers across the city region.

About the person
This is a multi-faceted role and requires somebody with experience of working within training, careers or adult skills programmes with an understanding of local and national skills provision.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of building meaningful relationships with employers and understand the needs and issues facing employers, particularly in relation to recruitment and upskilling.
We are looking for somebody who is an outstanding communicator with experience of presenting to audiences, as a key part of the role is to promote the programme to stakeholders.
They will also have experience of maintaining a caseload of partners and be able to demonstrate their ability to work accurately to deadlines, with a keen eye for detail.

Reporting to the 24 Hour London Manager, the Principal Policy Officer will contribute to driving forward implementation of new policy and policy engagement for the Strategic Licensing Project and 24 Hour London team’s work. 

The project team will work with all London boroughs, the Metropolitan Police, industry and other key partners in designing and implementing a new Strategic Licensing Policy and powers. They will pilot a new Licensing Service that will improve licensing practice and partnership working across London, increasing economic impact, and creating a regional pilot that can influence national policy.

This role will require senior level stakeholder relationship management and co-ordination of collective delivery of the team’s objectives through cross-organisational working with other teams within the GLA and the GLA Group, as well as with a wider stakeholder base.&nbsp;

This is a hybrid role; the postholder will split their time between home working and coming into the office. The main office will be at London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street, London SE1). The postholder will be expected to occasionally attend events and meetings elsewhere, in particular, City Hall (Kamal Chunchie Way, London E16).&nbsp;
It is a full-time permanent role. The working pattern will be agreed with the postholder.&nbsp;
