<h4>Job summary</h4><p>The SIA is the organisation responsible for the regulation of private security. It is an independent, arm’s length body (ALB) of the Home Office, reporting to the Home Secretary, under the terms of the Private Security Industry Act 2001. The SIA’s purpose is protecting the public through effective regulation of the private security industry and working with partners to raise standards across the sector. Its regulatory remit covers the United Kingdom. </p><p>The SIA has two main duties: the compulsory licensing of individuals undertaking designated activities within the private security industry and the management of a voluntary Approved Contractor Scheme, which measures private security suppliers against independently assessed criteria. </p><p>SIA licensing covers security operatives undertaking designated activities in guarding, door supervision, close protection, cash and valuables in transit, public space surveillance using CCTV, vehicle immobilisation (in Northern Ireland) and key holding. Licensing ensures that private security operatives are fit and proper persons who are properly trained and qualified to do their job. </p><h4>Job description</h4><p>Working within the SIA’s Compliance and Inspections function, you will be responsible for conducting effective investigations, inspections, and other compliance activity, to support the SIA’s purpose of protecting the public and raising standards. Responding to circumstances of regulatory offending, where the public may be placed at risk of harm or regulatory outcomes have been undermined, you will be tasked to conduct high quality investigations and enquiries to determine the most appropriate regulatory response. This may include progressing cases towards a formal compliance outcome or other appropriate interventions such as working with partners undertaking disruption activities. </p><p>You will be responsible for building and maintaining key partnerships and productive relationships with colleagues across the organisation, the Police and other law enforcement partners, HMRC and government regulators, as well as local authorities, and the private security industry, to enable compliance strategies to be implemented to deliver regulatory outcomes. </p><h4>Person specification</h4><p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p><ul><li>Hold or work towards obtaining accreditation to College of Policing Professionalising Investigative Practice 1 (PIP1) within 12 months of joining the organisation. Senior Application Operations Engineer - Corporate Database

<h4>Job summary</h4><p>Rewiring the state and delivering the Government’s missions needs high-quality, well-connected leaders. The role of public sector leaders is more important than ever in the context of the government's ambitions for an activist but not expansionist state and because of their place-based leadership role in the delivery of missions.</p><p>Within the Cabinet Office, the Public Sector Leadership team runs programmes and events for the most senior officials across the UK public sector, aimed at increasing their capability and networks for systems leadership. The team brings the community of public service leaders together through formal and informal learning, community and network building and large-scale events. As part of a new skills model, this work is growing over the next two years to increase impact and quality of what is delivered.</p><h4>Job description</h4><p>One of our main interventions is the Public Leaders Programme. It brings 60 CEO-level leaders together for a 12-month programme to improve the skills and relationships needed for the systems challenges and opportunities facing the public sector today and in the future.</p><p>This is a significant investment in the individuals, designed to make the most of every day they spend away from their organisations. Across the year, they will meet in person several times for residential training and be supported virtually by the whole public sector leadership team.</p><p>You will join us as our Programme Support Officer, with responsibility for the logistical planning of our programme events and driving innovation and continuous improvements to how we deliver. Exceptional circumstances where SC may not be confirmed at time of starting will be dealt with on a case by case basis, but the continuation of post will rely on successful clearance being given. </p><p>The vacancy will be filled on loan or fixed-term appointment for an initial period of two years, with the possibility of an extension by mutual agreement. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will take up post in early September. If the incumbent is applying on temporary promotion, they will revert to their previous substantive grade and salary after the loan. There is the potential for permanent inward transfer, although this is by exception. Several criteria must be met concerning individual performance, business need and individual career development.
