<h4>Job summary</h4><p><strong>Funding Officer, FTC to 31/12/2026</strong></p><p>We are recruiting a full time (part time considered) Funding Officer working across Leicester and Leicestershire on a fixed term contract basis. You’ll be part of a team of 9, led by two Funding Managers and working alongside 6 other Funding Officers, as part of a patch covering Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Coventry, within a larger Midlands team.</p><h4>Job description</h4><p>Ideally you will live in or near to Leicestershire or have excellent knowledge of the county. This role is classed as mobile working which means you will be expected to work from and visit several locations across the area, including your home. The ability to drive and have access to a vehicle is therefore beneficial, although not essential.</p><p>You will assess applications for funding and manage grants using local knowledge, best practice, thematic expertise and the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making.</p><p>By working closely with people and communities from a defined geographical area, you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.</p><p>Being responsible for supporting local people and communities, you will have a strong understanding of our vision, our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and our funding products. <h4>Job summary</h4><p>Senior Credit Risk Analysts (‘SEOs’) are expected to work across these three different areas according to business needs, working for the sector head responsible for each. SEOs produce high quality credit risk assessments of proposed transactions and existing exposures. The post-holder is expected to deliver on existing projects, to actively contribute to other ongoing gene therapy projects across the group and to support the development of new projects through applications for externally funded research projects. </p><p>The role will lead a team of expert scientists to address prioritised regulatory scientific research focused on the safety, characterisation and accelerated regulatory approval of gene therapy medicines. </p><p>The role will establish and foster strategically important National and International research collaborations and will also liaise closely with scientists in Standards Lifecycle and Control Testing Functions as well as licensing colleagues in HQA and Safety and Surveillance Divisions. <h4>Job summary</h4><p><strong>About the Armed Forces Commissioner (AFC) </strong></p><p>The AFC is a newly established, dedicated champion for our Regular and Reserve personnel and their families; a landmark step in demonstrating our commitment to supporting those who serve our nation. Acting as an independent champion, the AFC provides a direct route for serving personnel and their families to raise concerns about welfare issues that may impact on their service lives and ability to serve.</p><p>The Commissioner subsumes the roles and responsibilities of the Service Complaints Ombudsman for the Armed Forces (SCOAF), providing independent and impartial oversight of the Service Complaints system. They have the power to help Service personnel access the Service Complaints system, review aspects of the handling of individual Service Complaints, and report on the efficiency, effectiveness, and fairness of the system as a whole.</p><p>They also have the discretion to conduct individual and thematic investigations into specific and broader welfare issues facing Service personnel and their families. The independent reports and recommendations they publish will highlight these issues to Parliament and the wider public, holding the government and the Armed Forces to account.</p><p><strong>About the post</strong></p><p>As an Assessment Team Officer, you will work within the Assessment Team, responsible for processing all enquiries and applications made to the AFC. You will act as the first point of contact for the AFC, providing advice and guidance about the AFC's role including powers to investigate Service Complaints and General Service Welfare matters. You will also be responsible for making referrals to the single Service Secretariat Teams, informing them of a Service person’s intent to make a Service Complaint.</p><p>This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.</p><h4>Job description</h4><ul><li>Act as a first point of contact for the AFC, providing appropriate and timely responses to contacts.</li><li>Provide advice and guidance on the AFC’s role, including the referral process and powers to investigate Service Complaints and General Service Welfare matters.</li><li>Manage contacts made via different routes, including telephone, email, and the AFC website, providing a high-quality customer service, and ensuring all information is accurate, clear, and easy to understand.</li><li>Ensure all enquiries are acknowledged and accurately logged onto the CMS.
