Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operative (Cemeteries)
About the Role:
An exciting and challenging opportunity has been created to join our Cemetery Grounds Maintenance team who maintain various Cemeteries within Wirral.
We are looking for 3 x Seasonal GMOs to help provide an excellent service for local people. The successful candidates will help implement the Wirral Parks Standard which will involve working with staff, Friends Groups, service users and external organisation.
The successful candidates will join one of three Cemetery teams based at Frankby, Flaybrick or Bebington cemeteries. The Grounds Maintenance team work to provide a comprehensive grounds maintenance service to these areas for Parks &amp; Countryside.
About the Candidate:
We are looking for someone who has worked within a Grounds Maintenance team and experience of mowing and vegetation control, maintenance, and management of shrub stock, and in addition undertake cleansing operations and all other duties which includes assisting at burials relevant to the grade.
The successful candidate will have the following essential Knowledge &amp; Skills:
Health &amp; Safety awareness.
Full/Provisional Driving Licence
As well as being able to carry out a full range of maintenance duties it will be desirable if you were skilled in at least one of the following:
Compact Ride-On Mowing Machines
Experience in use of industrial horticultural machinery, strimmer, backpack blower and hedge cutter.
The postholders Key Tasks will include:
Working within a Cemetery Grounds Maintenance team.
Assisting and implementing a grass cutting schedule.
Working with plans.
Carry out other Amenity work when required.
Possession of the following Desirable Criteria will be advantageous. Previous experience working within a Cemetery environment. Towing of trailers NVQ 2 in Amenity Horticulture.
Temporary Contract and hours are as follows:
26 weeks @ 36 hrs to commence on 30th March 2026 to 25th September 2026
Working hours are:
Monday to Thursday 07.45am -16.30pm.
Friday - 7.45am - 11.45am.

Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operative (Rights of Way)
An exciting and challenging opportunity has been created to join a Grounds Maintenance team who maintain Rights of Way within Wirral. We are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to help provide an excellent service for local people.
The Team implements the Wirral Parks Standard which will involve working with staff, Friends Groups, service users and external organisations and will join the Grounds Maintenance team, based at Cleveland Street Depot, which is responsible for the maintenance of all Highway verges &amp; some open spaces within Parks &amp; Countryside.
The successful candidate will help implement the Wirral Parks Standard which will involve working with Rights of Way officer, staff, Friends Groups, service users and external organisation.
About the Candidate:
The successful candidate will join the Grounds Maintenance team based at Cleveland Street Depot which is responsible for the maintenance of all Highway verges &amp; Rights of Way some open spaces within Parks &amp; Countryside. The Grounds Maintenance team work to provide a comprehensive grounds maintenance service to these areas.
You will have the following essential Knowledge &amp; Skills:
Health &amp; Safety awareness.
Full/Provisional Driving Licence.
As well as being able to carry out a full range of maintenance duties it will be desirable if you were skilled in at least one of the following:
Compact Ride-On Mowing Machines.
Experience in use of industrial horticultural machinery, strimmer, backpack blower, and hedge cutter.
Possession of the following Desirable Criteria will be advantageous. Towing of trailers and NVQ 2 in Amenity Horticulture
Temporary Contract and hours are as follows:
31 weeks @ 36 hrs to commence on 30th March 2026 to 30th October 2026.

We're looking for a Compliance &amp; Health &amp; Safety Tutor to design and deliver training that ensures our teams work safely, confidently, and in line with regulations.In this role, you'll design, develop, and deliver engaging compliance and health &amp; safety training for both internal and external staff, ensuring all courses meet regulatory standards and business needs. You'll cover essential topics such as manual handling, abrasive wheels, working at height, harness and lanyard inspection, conflict resolution, and water regulations including safe isolation and damp &amp; mould management. Additionally, you'll help create a suite of “Intro to…” courses across various trades, leveraging your own qualifications and expertise to support workforce development.The role will involve a mix of working from home 2 days a week focusing on administrative task and 3 days a week travelling to various sites to deliver training, we are flexible in this approach.More about you The Essential Criteria for this role is listed below: <ul><li>A formal, recognised trade-based qualification e.g. electrician, plumber, landscaper, carpenter with at least 3 years' experience working in this role, ideally in a housing sector</li><li>A strong track record of meeting/exceeding health and safety and compliance requirements associated with the role</li><li>You will have a L3 Teaching and Assessing qualification – or previous experience of designing and delivering training to groups of learners and be willing to work towards these qualifications. </li><li>You will need to be digitally savvy with strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint and Word to create engaging learning resources.</li><li>You will have a full clean driving licence as there will be significant travel for this role</li></ul>Desirable criteria:<ul><li>Ideally, you will have some supervisory and/or management experience as most awarding bodies will be looking for this in order to approve you to deliver their courses</li><li>You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to build strong relationships with a variety of people of different levels, backgrounds and capabilities </li><li>You'll have the ability to engage various groups of learners through your facilitation and training skills – you'll often have between 12 and 20 learners at a time. </li></ul>BenefitsWe are a large diverse and ambitious business, which will give you all the challenge you could wish for.
