The team is based at Green Banks Multi-Agency Service Hub in Margate and supports disabled children up to the age of 18. </p><p>Our team consists of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers and Social Work Assistants who work closely with our colleagues in Disabled Young People's Teams, a range of teams within the Kent County Council and other key agencies, such as Health, Education and the voluntary sector.</p><p>You will be highly motivated and demonstrate excellent social work knowledge, skills and values to deliver the highest quality service to disabled children, their families and carers. Experience in Children’s Services is essential, including child protection and children in care. <p><strong>What will you be doing?</strong></p><p>The Kent Registration Service is looking for Celebratory Officers to register and conduct their civil ceremonies; these include marriages, civil partnerships, and renewal of vows. This is an opportunity to play a key part in a couple’s special day and is a wonderfully rewarding customer-facing role, giving you the opportunity to meet a wide range of people.</p><p>We have annualised hours contracts available across the county for 248 hours and 136 hours per annum. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments over the year regardless of the hours worked that month.</p><p>The greatest proportion of the work will take place during peak ceremony times which under normal circumstances will be from June to September inclusive. You will be required to work Fridays and/or Saturdays dependent on your contractual hours. Our regulatory work includes operating a licencing scheme, undertaking inspections to ensure compliance with that scheme, and taking enforcement action where there are breaches.</li><li><strong>Prevention</strong> – We work with a broad range of stakeholders locally, nationally, and internationally to help prevent workers from being exploited.</li><li><strong>Enforcement</strong> - We investigate allegations of worker abuse under the Modern Slavery Act 2015. GLAA Officers conduct civil and criminal investigations and take enforcement action, including prosecutions and court orders to disrupt criminal activity. We also support victims who have been abused, in particular by ensuring they can access specialist help from our partners.</li></ul><h4>Job description</h4><p>Reporting to an Investigations Manager the postholder will be expected to professionally investigate allegations of Modern Slavery, Labour Exploitation, and other relevant Labour Market offences and in doing so protect and safeguard individuals exposed to these risks. The postholder will lead investigations from the reporting stage through to successful court proceedings by providing credible investigative expertise to protect vulnerable workers and prevent exploitation. Safeguarding and provision of care and support to potentially vulnerable and exploited workers will be required. </p><p>The role holder is responsible for: </p><ul><li>Conducting and taking responsibility for criminal investigations under the Gangmasters Licensing Act 2004 and the Modern Slavery Act 2015 </li><li>Carrying out risk assessments for victims and potential victims of exploitation, identify immediate risk to victims and where necessary take appropriate action to safeguard individuals.</li><li>Undertaking witness and suspect interviews in line with PACE and associated procedures in relation to investigations that could include serious and complex crime.</li><li>Performing lawful arrest and process of suspects for exploitation related criminality in line with PACE.</li><li>Maintaining personal responsibility for all aspects of file preparation including gathering, recording, storing, accessing, and sharing of evidence in compliance with organisational procedures, codes of practice and legislation.</li><li>Ensuring that all evidence and exhibits are properly recorded and stored, and that the continuity and integrity of that evidence is always maintained by GLAA personnel.
