The project is funded by Adoption England and has been extended by a further 12 months, this is an additional post to complement the projects current work.&nbsp;&nbsp;The aims of the South West Permanence Project are:&nbsp;Providing the best possible permanency opportunity. Permanence is defined in the statutory guidance that accompanies the Children Act 1989 as providing children with: ‘a sense of security, continuity, commitment and identity … a secure, stable and loving family to support them through childhood and beyond’ (DCSF, 2010).&nbsp;&nbsp;To increase aspirations of permanence for children with disabilities throughout the system. With improved and speedier permanency opportunities for children with disabilities.&nbsp;&nbsp;Reduce delays for children by diversifying the regional pool of adopters.&nbsp;Greater placement stability through earlier placement and better understanding of children’s support needs. Earlier attachments, reducing impacts of trauma and loss and improving life outcomes.&nbsp;Greater placement stability from tailored, informed adoption support packages secured at the point of placement.&nbsp;&nbsp;Adopters more aware of the needs of children waiting and better prepared to meet them.&nbsp;Main Duties of the Family Finding Support Worker in the project is to:&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Work across 13 local authorities in the South West England.</li><li>Contribute to planning for the best possible permanency opportunity,&nbsp;considering adoption, special guardianship and long-term fostering opportunities, enhanced family finding models.</li><li>Provide an efficient family finding service that meets the needs of children needing permanent placements within prescribed timescales.</li><li>Alongside established family finding activities the family support workers role will include:</li><li>Developing in-depth understanding of the child, and their support needs.&nbsp;</li><li>Working where possible with birth families as well as foster carers and social workers to create a detailed ecomap showing the child’s current and historical networks of support. Projects show ecomaps can need to include between 30-100 identified people before successful permanence options can be identified. An opportunity for an experienced GIS professional has become available to lead on and support the delivery and development of geographical information systems applications to ensure that the planning service delivers its statutory duties, proactively analyses data, and can find solutions within the department. We are looking to appoint a permanent full time HLTA into our Resourced Provision setting.&nbsp; The successful candidate will be required to work under the guidance and supervision of the Resourced Provision Manager and Assistant Headteacher for SENDCO and Inclusion to take responsibility for the agreed planning, preparation and delivering of learning activities for individuals/groups of students from across the school, in or out of the classroom.&nbsp; You would also be expected to support the RP Manager in the administration/maintenance of individual EHCPs, as well as assisting with the line management of the RP team and to monitor, assess, record and report on student’s achievement, progress and development.

We have an exciting opportunity available for an Overseas Arrivals Accommodation Co-ordinator to join our Housing Needs and Options Service, here at Wokingham Borough Council. This exciting new post will provide strategic direction for migration in the borough and will be responsible for coordinating a Council wide response to this increasing demand. This post will identify opportunities to prevent and relief homelessness for this cohort by coordinating bids for funding opportunities and effectively managing existing migration budgets to ensure that preventative measures are put into place that deliver quantifiable outcomes in service delivery.
The Role
As the Overseas Arrivals Accommodation Co-ordinator, you will work closely with senior officers in the Housing Needs and Options Service, as well as with other senior officers across the Council in key areas including Housing, Education, Transport and Community Safety. You will also work closely with the Voluntary and Community Sector.&nbsp;
Please note this is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Your main responsibilities will include:
<ul>
<li>Using data and intelligence to forecast migration numbers and future demands on Council services and to produce regular reports to inform the Corporate Leadership Team.</li>
<li>Undertake research to inform policy development and best practice.</li>
<li>Identify and assess potential risks associated with migration pressures, including financial and operational risks.</li>
<li>To manage migration budgets and migration related funding streams, ensuring that allocated budgets deliver preventative measures which lead to cost avoidance and long-term financial sustainability.</li>
<li>Apply project management principles including coordinating project meetings, producing project plans and risk registers; lead on all projects, strategies and policies relating to migration.</li>
<li>Represent the Council in regional forums and partnerships on migration and in discussions with central government bodies, advocating for local needs and ensuring alignment with national policies.</li>
</ul>
About You
We are looking for an organised and motivated individual with an in-depth knowledge of migration, the asylum process and homelessness legislation. The ideal candidate will have:

<li>Experience of managing budgets, project management and partnership working.</li>
<li>An ability to collaborate with senior officers, Elected Members, and partners.</li>
<li>Strong research, evaluation, and analytical skills.</li>
<li>A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to inform and influence senior internal and external stakeholders in key decisions.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Programme or project management qualifications or demonstrable experience in supporting projects and/or programmes is highly desirable.</li>

The role of the HLTA is to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision.
