We are seeking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (SEND) to support a high-needs pupil in KS2, both in and out of the classroom. The role includes:

  • Providing in-class support for the pupil
  • Supporting integration to wider class lessons and activities as much as possible
  • Delivering interventions or bespoke curriculum content under the direction of the class teacher when needed
  • Supporting the delivery with the class teacher and Inclusion Leader as part of a dedicated and supportive team committed to ensuring that every child thrives.

Job Details

Salary: £12.85-£13.05 per hour (pay award pending)


Contract Type: Fixed term to 21.7.27 with the possibility of extending in the future. This contract is linked to an individual and will depend on the pupil remaining at the school.

Working Pattern: Monday -Friday - Term time only 12:45-3:30


Location: St Mary's Church of England Primary School Horsham

What You Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role you will need to:

● To prepare and develop resources to meet the needs of the pupil.
● To maintain a good channel of communication with the class teacher about pupil progress.
● To contribute to planning and assessment conducted by the class teacher.
● To deliver interventions as required by the Inclusion Leader.
● To support the pupil to integrate with their peers both socially and in lessons.
● To manage pupil behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
● To undertake relevant professional development when required.
● To contribute discussions about the pupil’s progress and needs as required.
● To ensure the pupil’s specific health care needs are met, in line with the Education and Health Care Plan.
