Making a Difference as Assistant Team Manager in Children’s Services
An opportunity has arisen to recruit to a fixed term contract for an assistant team manager post in Duty due to an internal promotion. There is a high likelihood this could be extended beyond 31/03/2026.
This is a pivotal role in our teams, supporting the management of, and leading a team of qualified social care staff and support workers, who undertake children’s social care safeguarding assessments, support, and intervention services to vulnerable children.

We are seeking individuals with a minimum of 3 years post- qualification experience in a social work setting including child protection work. You will have CQSW, CSS, Dip SW Registered Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England, or will apply for registration before taking up the post. This is an exciting opportunity for you to utilise existing skills and develop new ones. The posts include some home working but will require you to regularly attend the St Helens office and travel around the St Helens and surrounding areas.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Home Improvement Agency, in the role of Handyperson. This is a key role in supporting vulnerable people to remain living at home independently, in safety and comfort. 
For this demanding role, you will need to be an excellent communicator with the confidence to liaise with customers, contractors, professionals etc. You will possess proven organisational skills, along with the ability to deal with complex issues in a sensitive manner. Working flexibly both as a team member and on your own in a demanding and diverse customer-focused environment, you will ideally have experience of working with elderly, disabled, vulnerable clients.
Previous experience working in a similar role is preferred. 
You must be punctual and trustworthy, committed and hardworking, and able to work in a collaborative and enthusiastic manner. 
You will have experience of using hand tools safely, and ideally you will have a construction background working in the building trade.

The Active Lifestyle team are looking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join their team to deliver a variety of healthy lifestyle initiatives around physical activity, nutrition and behaviour change).&nbsp;
The Development Officer will be responsible for the delivery of a range of lifestyle services including Exercise Referral, Weight Management, NHS Health Checks, Falls Prevention, Children’s Healthy Lifestyle programmes and Fitness Suite cover linked to the priorities of Sefton Council (through Active Sefton.&nbsp; The post holder will also be responsible for leading on specific developments of the services.
The role involves contact with a wide range of individuals from health professionals to patients, well-developed communication and interpersonal skills are essential elements for the post.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably motivated individual to join our busy Housing Standards Team. This is a career graded post with the opportunity to access ongoing learning and development opportunities including L4 apprenticeship training, enabling the post holder to achieve competency in a wide range of Housing Standards and enforcement duties.
The post will require the successful applicant to work with vulnerable tenants, landlords and a range of agencies in order to ensure compliance with housing standards and HMO licence requirements.
The ideal applicant will have a background knowledge of housing standards and management issues and the commitment and enthusiasm to undertake wider Housing Standards related training as required. Progression to the higher salary band will be subject to completion of training and skills / competency assessment.
This post would suit existing / newly qualified Housing practitioners looking to extend their housing knowledge and experience.
This role allows for hybrid working, combining working from home with access to an agile work hub and the undertaking of site visits and inspections of properties across the borough.
