As Deputy Section 151 Officer, you will support the statutory duties of the Strategic Director Finance, deputising in their absence to ensure the Council maintains the highest standards of financial governance, resilience, and accountability.
About the candidate
To be successful in this role, you will be a proactive finance leader who is CCAB, CIPFA, ACCA or CIMA qualified and have experience operating at a senior level within a finance function, preferably in a local government setting.
A strong understanding of financial systems, local government finance and treasury management is essential as well as the ability to inspire, empower, and motivate teams. You will also have a high degree of organisational and political awareness and the ability to influence and build strong relationships.

Practice Development Lead 

We are currently recruiting for a Social Worker within our integrated discharge team to contribute to the delivery of highly effective children and adult services (within Adult Social Care) in an efficient manner. The service is delivered using a strength based, personalised approach.We work across both the acute and non-acute sites across Medway and out of area hospitals. We have been at the forefront of changes in the hospitals discharge to assess model. This has meant that our teamwork with people in an acute setting as well as those in community settings after a period of the time in hospital. As Senior Policy Adviser, you will act as the primary point of contact in relation to key policy areas and provide expert policy advice to leadership on a range of matters. You’ll lead on a range of policy areas related to electoral administration and political finance across the UK and internationally. &nbsp;
Your responsibilities will include leading flexible, high-quality policy analysis; analysing and commenting on draft legislation; briefing policy makers in Government and key internal stakeholders on reform proposals; planning and managing the delivery of key policy projects, often involving multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines.&nbsp;
You will be involved in research projects, monitor and report on the impact of significant changes to elections in the UK and internationally, and develop specialist knowledge about election law and policy, and innovative thinking about regulatory challenges of new campaign techniques.&nbsp;&nbsp;

We are looking for someone with experience of leading policy development and a proactive, collaborative attitude.&nbsp;&nbsp;
