Experienced Occupational Therapist
21.6 hours per week
An exciting opportunity is available for an Experienced Occupational Therapist to come and work in our community OT Service, working with people in their own environment, to maximise their independence, reduce need for care and support as appropriate, and supporting carers in their roles.
You will develop your skills, knowledge and experience, in: long term conditions management, utilising specialist equipment and major adaptations, manual handling assessment outcomes and plans, adaptative techniques, postural and functional assessments to meet needs, reduce risks and maintain functional ability, improve safety and enable or maintain their independence where possible. Working in a community role under social care, housing adaptations, and all other relevant legislation, applying relevant legislation and equipment and grant criteria, to achieve outcomes for people, supporting with daily living activities. Working collaboratively with other professionals in ASC, and the wider MDT professionals, carers, and individuals.
You will develop your leadership skills supporting students, assistant, less experienced OT staff, supporting their development learning and experience. You will be supported by experienced OT colleagues and team leaders to develop your experience and skills, and undertake monthly service CPD sessions, including external speakers and representatives, and access to external courses as relevant, and our full range of training available, accessing any leadership skills development as required.
You will receive formal support, guidance and regular monthly clinical and management supervision from team leader. We hold monthly team meetings across the service areas, bringing together all therapy staff, discussing relevant and pertinent topics, service progression and exploring developments.

About the Role:
An exciting opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist to work in our community Occupational Therapy service. About the Candidate:

You will receive formal support guidance and regular monthly supervision from your line manager or specialist experienced therapist, and informal support form therapy colleagues, to help develop your confidence skills and abilities. There are regular monthly team meetings, monthly CPD sessions, practical learning sessions, formal training, informal training from reps on demonstration of new or upgraded products, assessment of postural seating provision, to enhance your CPD portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity for an early career data analyst to join the Public Health Intelligence Team as a Health Care Intelligence Specialist Apprentice, where you will develop your skills and knowledge alongside completing the Health and Care Intelligence Specialist Level 7 apprenticeship.&nbsp; &nbsp;
The role is offered on a fixed term/secondment basis for 36 months, working full time over 5 days, within which you will be allocated 20% as protected time for your apprenticeship.&nbsp;
You will work on a range of data and intelligence projects that support population health management. This may include bringing together data from health, social care and wider determinants of health. There may also be opportunity to work across projects with health intelligence teams across the East Berkshire footprint.
<h3>About you...</h3>
This role provides on-the-job training for junior analysts who would like to progress their career into more senior posts. You will have a desire to learn new skills through the level 7 apprenticeship, have the ability to complete intensive, modular learning and be practically minded, translating that learning into opportunities in the workplace.
You will need to be educated to degree level in a relevant subject – see below - with a core numerical component and/or equivalent level of experience and training from working within a relevant role.
As the role is funded by the NHS, to be eligible to apply for this post you are required to have achieved one of the following:

<li>Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) undergraduate degree&nbsp;</li>
<li>Social Sciences (e.g. Psychology, Geography, Economics, Accounting) undergraduate degree with research methods and/or statistics and quantitative degree modules, and an undergraduate dissertation with a research or data analysis component&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Level 4 or higher qualification in STEM or a related field that includes substantial mathematical content (e.g., Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Computing, Engineering, or Science)&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Professional registration with FEDIP through the Association of Healthcare Analysts (AphA) at Practitioner or Senior Practitioner level&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Equivalent analytical work experience (e.g. Band 6 or Band 7 data/senior analyst or similar role&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
You will have excellent numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail so you can work with partners to understand problems which data is needed to solve, and provide insight through written reports and presentations

We are looking for someone who enjoys developing new collaborative relationships and leading multi-agency strategic partnerships. You will enjoy working across Council services, embracing a ‘health in all policies’ approach, and acting as an advocate for children’s public health priorities and action with system partners. Public Health are seeking a Health Improvement Coordinator NHS Health Checks &amp; Stop Smoking to join the team at level A. This is the entry point of the role, so you will need to be able to demonstrate the relevant knowledge, experience and skills to get you started, but you will be supported to develop in your role through induction, probation and a supportive Performance Appraisal and Career Conversation. Location: The role is based in East Croydon, accessible by Train and Tram Link. Unfortunately this location does not have step free access.
Salary: £40,000 (Full time equivalent)
Shift Pattern: 22.5 hours per week across three working days, Monday to Friday on a rota between 08:00 - 20:00
About the role
We're looking for an Occupational Therapist who has experience in Complex Mental Health and Substance Misuse to join our residential service based in Croydon. You will use your skills and knowledge to support residents with mental health challenges, complex needs, and will provide specialist occupational therapy as part of their recovery. This is a great opportunity to shape your own role, alongside a team of Positive Engagement Workers, a Dual Diagnosis Worker, and Clinical Psychologist, whilst working closely with the Group Psychological Lead and other external partnerships. You will receive regular supervisions and have time with an external Occupational Therapist.&nbsp;
You will:
<ul>
<li>Deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills</li>
<li>Be proactive with planning and delivering meaningful activities; this includes one to one and group sessions</li>
<li>Work closely with clinical teams to meet people where they are, assess their situation, and write recommendations and signposting accordingly</li>
<li>Assess their current situation through holistic assessments and put plans in place for them to overcome their personal barriers, to enable them for independent living and stability</li>
<li>Provide psychologically informed interventions in a person-centred approach, flexibly to the resident needs</li>
<li>Complete various assessments from function to task related to help empower enhanced community and personal engagement</li>
<li>Set SMART goals in a collaborative way with residents, taking into account all information present from various team members and partner agencies. &nbsp;</li>

About you
We’re looking for a passionate, driven and qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with the HCPC who has experience working with people that have multiple complex needs. You’ll be confident applying theory to the practical working environment. We use a trauma informed, non judgmental approach, so it’s important that you can work well with others, fit into the team, and build trusting relationships. You will be able to apply your knowledge of relevant guidance and protocols to the working environment. You will have a background in a similar role, able to provide specialist support to our residents who struggle with their mental health and substance use.
What we look for:

<li>Ability to provide specialised occupational therapy assessment and treatment for residents/participants.</li>
<li>Willingness to work in adherence to Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and Consultation Observation Tool (COT) and other practice guidelines.</li>
<li>Ability to identify activity needs and wishes through various approaches such as assessments, observations, and discussions then use these to implement plans of action.</li>
<li>Ability to recognise signs of deteriorating mental health, physical health, or other health implications and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent crisis or other risks.</li>
<li>Supporting residents/participants with the relevant life skills, knowledge, and resources to support their journey to achieve independence and their desired goals.</li>
<li>Ability to develop, participate in, and encourage residents/participants to participate in the running and development of various projects and group engagement activities.</li>
