Travel across the county will be required Contract Type: Permanent Directorate: Resources<h4>About the team</h4>Part of the Resources Directorate at Hertfordshire County Council, the Property Team support all Service teams with their property requirements, including fire stations, registration offices, libraries, household waste recycling centres, supported living, care homes, day centres, highway depots, corporate offices and vacant properties.The Strategic Assets and Estates Manager role manage a team of 6, which has a mix of Estates Officers and Asset Officers, and commissions the council’s property managing agents.Each officer covers a geographical area providing support to the different internal clients for that area, supported by the Senior Assets Officers and Team Leader.<h4>About the role</h4>You will be involved in working on a varied portfolio and will be responsible for the professional and strategic management of property assets to support the delivery of the Council’s Services.The role will be required to provide professional property advice on land and property matters in line with RICS standards and the County Council’s protocols. Responsibility for landlord and tenant activities (including rent reviews, lease renewals and lease regears), project work, strategic consultancy, professional estates advice to colleagues and other stakeholders, estate, asset and property management. For clarity this is not a facilities management role.You will be required to provide instruction and manage our external property management consultants (and other external consultants as required). As well as be expected to liaise and work closely alongside colleagues in our Legal Services, Facilities Management, Development and Planning, Finance, and our service teams to ensure the best possible property solution is delivered. Joint Waste Solutions - Assistant Monitoring Officer (East)
Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity tackling environmental issues?
This role will help support the management of the joint waste collection and street cleansing contract, driving service improvements and helping residents to understand the recycling service, overcoming any issues they may experience and avoid contaminating their recycling.
At Joint Waste Solutions (JWS), there is an East operations team, managing the services in Elmbridge and Mole Valley and a West operations team who manage services for Surrey Heath and Woking Borough Councils.
In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety of the public by checking the service providers’ staff are complying with the safe systems of work and by conducting crew checks. While ensuring civic pride through monitoring street cleaning, reporting defective levels of cleanliness, and following up to ensure the issue has been rectified.&nbsp;&nbsp;
The successful candidate will have experience of monitoring contracts and using performance management systems as well as experience of providing a good standard of customer care. An understanding of environmental issues as well as a knowledge of health and safety legislation is beneficial but not essential. You’ll need excellent verbal and written communications skills, be able to get involved in a range of projects and deliver them to deadline, as well as a methodological approach to information gathering, recording and reporting.
This vacancy with the East Operations team (Elmbridge and Mole Valley) is a full time position of 37 hours, on a fixed term basis until June 2026, with the possibility of an extension beyond that point.

About the roleAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join North Northamptonshire Council as a Waste Collection Driver/Loader within the Waste team.The successful candidate will be based at either our Wellingborough or Kettering depot, and work across North Northamptonshire as part of a front line team providing a vital service to local residents. The Skills and Employment Unit’s Funding Policy and Systems Team is responsible for data collection and processing related to London’s adult education and skills programmes and produces a range of data products to support delivery of the Mayor’s priorities in this area.
<h2>About the role</h2>
You will lead the planning, design and delivery of user research with users of the team’s data products to understand their needs and requirements and work with the development team to design potential solutions.
The team has recently started embedding user-centred approaches in its work. You’ll have the chance to embed user research as a critical function within the team and make a meaningful impact for data users in an evolving environment. If you’re interested in how data is used and enthusiastic about delivering improvements for the public sector, this role is for you. This is a hybrid working opportunity. <h2>What your day will look like</h2>
<ul>
<li>Produce research outputs that inform design so that our data products work well for users and achieve the desired business outcomes.</li>
<li>Establish user research as a function within the Funding Policy and Systems team. Set standards and behavioural expectations for researchers and embed user research as a function into the delivery of all data products.</li>
<li>Directly lead research of our data products, working in the open with the user at the centre of all you do, including working across multiple workstreams concurrently.</li>
<li>Apply a range of research methods to identify user needs and requirements, refine concepts, and test solutions with data users. Create research and analysis plans to help gather evidence to guide decision-making in nuanced areas where simple answers are not possible. Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to explore research findings in more depth, share knowledge and expertise, and support decision-making;</li>
<li>Analyse research findings to draw out key insights; communicate key insights and recommendations to the multi-disciplinary team and its stakeholders. Translate the vision into prioritised, deliverable user stories backed up by evidence. Create wireframes used to visualise and test design concepts, and lead the design of data product solutions to share with the development team;</li>
<li>Contribute to the refinement and prioritisation of the Data and Systems Roadmap;</li>
<li>Build up an internal research and insight knowledge base. Maintain a research repository and standardise processes that enable the team to plan, deliver, and apply quality research;</li>
