Join our Transformation Team at L&Q:

L&Q is one of the UK’s largest housing associations and providers of social and affordable homes. We house around 250,000 people primarily across Greater London and Greater Manchester. Our purpose is simple – to provide social homes and landlord services that everyone can be proud of.

L&Q has just begun to deliver on our new 5-year strategy, with Transformation and Change a key enabler. We have a well-defined Transformation & Change portfolio, a very clear North Star “To deliver an operating model that enables good landlord services and value for money. This will involve centrally designed services which are regionally delivered, so that they are reliable, repeatable and consistent, and fulfil local needs.” This includes how we design and organise our services, the leadership and cultural aspects of delivering meaningful change at scale, the Technology, Data & Information to deliver our services.

We are looking for a new senior leader to join our team as Head of Programme Management. You will provide strategic oversight, co-ordination and leadership for one or more aspects of the L&Q’s transformation and change portfolio.

You will be responsible for ensuring that delivery is well-governed, resourced and aligned with organisational priorities, and that the transformation and change portfolio is delivered in a coordinated, high-quality and timely manner. You will have the ability to collaborate at all levels to ensure successful shared outcomes, the ability to influence and deliver through others, the ability to work in a complex, dynamic setting and to remain agile and responsive, and excellent problem-solving capabilities, are all critical experiences and skills we seek in the role holder.

If this sounds like you, we would love for you to apply!

  • Leadership - Strong and experienced leader of both direct and indirect reports, and adept at enabling them to be the best they can be, in support of successful outcomes for them and L&Q. High level of competence at delivering through others.
  • Programme and Project Delivery Management within a Portfolio – In-depth knowledge and experience of programme and project lifecycle management in a portfolio setting. Skilled and deeply experienced in delivery of independent and interdependent projects within a complex programme and portfolio environment.
  • Supplier Management – experience of managing the performance and delivery of 3rd party partners and suppliers, working to oversee successful delivery of contractual obligations, enabling value for money.
  • Resource, Financial and Business Case Oversight – deep understanding of resource requirement analysis and planning including within a matrix resource environment with a blend of internal and external resources. High level of experience in building financial requirements, tracking and overseeing budget performance, business case construction and benefits realisation tracking.

  • Governance and Assurance – strong understanding and experience of leading transformation and change through application of governance frameworks, stage gates, and ability to assess delivery health and provide assurance.

What you'll bring:

  • We seek a well-rounded, senior and experienced transformation and change leader, who is able to use their skills to bring senior stakeholders and teams together to deliver brilliant outcomes for colleagues and residents alike.
  • Be able to collaborate at all levels to ensure successful shared outcomes.
  • The ability to influence and deliver through others.
