About the role:All families have strengths and Family Connectors play an important role in finding positive supporters for children so we are looking for someone who shares our passion for ensuring that children and their families are always be involved in planning for care and protection where it is safe to do so.Family Connectors have the responsibility of searching for family members, fictive kin or natural support for children and young people referred by social care practitioners. It is a neutral role and the Family Connector willuse a range of tools and techniques to locate and engage relatives of children and young people to the greatest possible extent. This could include indirect methods such as deep file searches, using social media and genealogy tools to complete a family tree through to direct methods such as DNA testing, mobility mapping and interviewing family in order to ensure that no stone is left unturned. As a Repairs &amp; Maintenance Operative at Peabody, you’ll provide a responsive and proactive repairs service across our communal and public areas, ensuring our homes, buildings and shared spaces remain safe, functional and well‑maintained.You’ll work closely with colleagues, tenants and partner teams to deliver “right first time” repairs, identify planned maintenance needs, and help us continuously improve the homes and environments our residents rely on every day.What You’ll Do<ul><li>Deliver high‑quality general repairs across Peabody stock, ensuring a “right first time” approach</li><li>Carry out multi‑trade repairs including tiling, painting, plaster patching, carpentry, glazing, minor plumbing, metalwork, fencing, paving and general maintenance</li><li>Proactively identify both reactive and planned repairs and support colleagues in developing planned works programmes</li><li>Maintain and care for tools, plant and company vehicles</li><li>Support quality assurance checks with Peabody officers and tenant inspectors</li><li>Assist with insurance claim reports when required</li><li>Ensure compliance with Health &amp; Safety, Equal Opportunities and Customer Care policies</li><li>Complete safety roles such as Fire Warden or First Aider when required</li><li>Maintain accurate electronic records using handheld devices</li><li>Assess materials required for each job, ensuring minimal waste and best value</li><li>Report defects or additional works required and arrange follow‑on jobs as appropriate</li><li>Support apprentices by providing on-the-job guidance</li><li>Work collaboratively with Caretaking, Neighbourhood, Warden and Asset Management Teams</li><li>Take ownership of positive complaint resolution and represent Peabody professionally</li></ul>What You’ll Need<ul><li>A full clean manual UK driving licence</li><li>Strong multi‑trade skills gained through formal qualifications and/or extensive practical experience</li><li>Experience delivering high‑quality repairs in a customer‑focused environment</li><li>Ability to plan, schedule and prioritise work efficiently</li><li>Competent IT skills and confidence using handheld devices</li><li>Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly</li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks</li><li>Knowledge of Health &amp; Safety regulations, site safety and COSHH</li><li>Awareness of personal safety and lone working procedures</li><li>Experience working in a Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) setting – desirable</li></ul>Why Join Us?
