With the adoption of our new Local Plan anticipated this autumn, this pivotal role will help shape the future of infrastructure delivery across the borough.
About the Role
This is a dynamic and rewarding position at the heart of strategic planning and infrastructure coordination. You’ll play a key role in:

The Role
We are looking to recruit a graduate into an interesting Assistant Planning Policy Officer post within the Planning Policy and Conservation Team. You will be joining a small but busy team supporting the preparation of a new Local Plan and associated planning policy tasks. Now is a good time to join the authority with the Local Plan at Examination and plans progressing for further regeneration of Camberley town centre.&nbsp; The role provides the opportunity to gain experience across all aspects of Planning Policy in a Borough that contains both urban and rural areas, including areas of Metropolitan Green Belt.&nbsp;
You must be enthusiastic to learn, with excellent IT skills and effective written and verbal communication skills. You will have a Degree and are likely to be a recent graduate and will be keen to kick start a career in Planning.&nbsp; The role will involve assisting with research and monitoring of planning policy matters, preparing evidence base documents and supporting the development and delivery of the new Local Plan.

A position has arisen for an enthusiastic individual with great communication skills to join our Town Planning administration and support withing the Development Management service, based at the Town Hall, Brentwood. &nbsp;The Planning Administration team handles the administrative and technical process involved in the submission, registration, validation, notification and determination of the 1200 + planning and related applications received each year, as well as various tasks associated with planning appeals.&nbsp;
Based at the Town Hall offices in Brentwood Town Centre for essential training, meetings and support with the possibility for hybrid arrangements, you will be part of a busy and proactive team, working in a paperless environment. &nbsp;Initially dealing with validation and registration of planning applications and enforcement cases, you will also provide administrative support to both the Admin Team Leader and Planning Officers throughout the application process, including preparations for Planning Committee meetings. Administrative duties in connection with the issuing of notices for the collection of Community Infrastructure Levy payments is also a requirement of the role.&nbsp;
The role will require extensive use of the Council’s document management and database systems so strong IT literacy is essential and as the role involves working with plans and architectural drawings, an interest in and ability to interpret these would be desirable.&nbsp; Training and support will be given.&nbsp;
